Angels of Death Episode 9 Recap | Is It Evil?

Danny tried to make a deal with Zack? I can honestly say I wasn’t expecting that. How Evil is the 9th episode of Angels of Death?

Angels of Death
Studio: J.C. Staff
Genre: Mystery, Horror,

So, Danny was going to try and kill Zack while he was sleeping, but that fell apart rather quickly when Zack forced his body to take a swing at the guy. Zack’s will is pretty impressive. He shouldn’t even be able to walk let alone swing that scythe at all. This is when Danny offers Zack a deal. Danny, while injured, was actually wearing armor when Zack hit him before. I don’t really buy that explanation of why he’s alive, but it is what it is.

Anyway, Danny offers Zack the medicine he needs to survive as long as Zack gives him Ray’s eyes. Zack responds with an attempted slash but he can’t complete that action as injured as he is. He even drops his weapon which leads me to ask why didn’t Danny try to kill him then? Danny just up and leaves Zack to bleed-out, presumingly he’s going after Ray. Speaking of Ray the judgment has commenced. Gray points out something that is completely correct.

Everything Ray’s done up until now has been all about making sure she gets what she wants. Every trial Gray has thrown at her, she handled with a cold-blooded decisiveness that only benefited her. For example, those poor locked up people on Cathy’s floor. She didn’t even consider trying to help them she just mowed them down. And then there’s the answer she gave Gray when he asked her why she wanted to save Zack. Ray finally made it to Zack’s floor and she did manage to find some bandages.

Then we finally return to Gray’s floor and he wastes no time in getting Ray high again. This time Gray seemingly transforms into a giant white snake and chases Ray down a few hallways. I do have to give this show credit for these types of scenarios. For the most part, it’s hard to tell if we’re seeing an illusion or something that’s actually real.  Anyway, back to the giant snake.

The chase ends when Ray runs into Zack who knocks her to the ground, snapping her out of it. Ha, he just repaid her for snapping him out of a drugged state. At least I think it’s over. With this show, it’s really hard to tell. With Gray around, everything might be fake. I don’t think we’ll know for sure until he’s dead, assuming that ever happens. I do have one nagging question that’s been bugging me though. How did Gray know that the hands screamed? Ray denied that they did, but how did he know? Unless the drugs he uses makes everyone have a shared illusion of some kind he shouldn’t know, right?

And then we have another possibly more disturbing idea presented by the presence of a real giant snake that Zack killed. Forgive me, I’m in theory mode now. What if those drugs augment reality? It would explain why sometimes things are real, like the snake. I know it’s a little shaky but it might explain Gray’s knowledge of the illusions too. I don’t know, maybe I’m just losing my head.

ANGELS OF DEATH 9 4

Overall I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Politician (7). I’m a bit more confused about where this is heading than curious at the moment. I don’t like Zack being this close to death either. I have a feeling the next few episodes might do things that’ll annoy me. Especially with the show’s tendency of having its characters do stupid things.
