Henry Cavill was just cast in the lead role of a Netflix series adapted from one of Riley’s favorite videogames! So… why isn’t she more thrilled? Stay Toon’d!

Our Take: This one’s fairly straightforward, honestly. Henry Cavill is a talented actor and I think he could bring something to the role. I don’t particularly love the series nearly as much as Riley (reminder: She’s a character, people), but that’s largely because I’m not largely familiar with it. I’ve played the third game, and even then I didn’t play through all of it. So my own experience in this realm is limited. But Cavill is capable of playing a variety of roles and I think he’ll do fine.

I am a bit nervous about the Netflix part, however. That bit is genuine. When it comes to the Netflix originals, it’s really just like flipping a coin. The showrunner being the same as Daredevil’s is a good sign. Of the Marvel series, Daredevil is the most consistently good. But I’m not sure that’s enough to warrant complete confidence. Time will tell.
