Magical Girl Ore – Episodes 6 – 7 Recap (Is It Evil?)

And the reward for the most obnoxious hot springs episode I’ve ever seen goes to… How Evil are the sixth and seventh episodes of Magical Girl Ore?

Magical Girl Ore
Studio: Pierrot Plus
Genre: Magic, Comedy

I knew this was coming but that didn’t make this any easier to watch. Look, I get that this is a thing that happens a lot, but they just got back from a break, last episode. Anyway, Saki was in a great mood from the start thanks to her crush, who was at the hot springs too. There’s just one problem with that situation. Saki transforms whenever she starts to think about the guy in any serious way.

The poor girl gets stuck in the men’s bath due to a signage mishap that might have been planned by her arch nemesis. Saki had to maintain her guy form for what might’ve been hours and her crush was with her the whole time. She went through hell to protect her identity. But in the end, she fainted inside the sauna. Sakuyo eventually figures out what happened and rushes to save Saki, but she runs into her share of problems on the way.

I’m not sure what’s funnier here. The fact that the Demons reserved a room at the resort or the fact that they were allowed to. Sakuyo ended up facing that room of demons and eventually saved Saki from her nightmare right in the nick of time. That’s pretty much all of episode six.

Episode seven went back to the norm of the show. The girls are trying to improve their careers by singing karaoke with their manager. Everything is going badly for Saki. She’s never really been that great at singing in the first place, but the manager seems to be overly critical of Saki until he breaks out into song.

After that disturbing moment, Saki makes a discovery that there are Demons infesting one of the nearby rooms. She decides not to attack the demons this time, though. Instead, she tries to return to the training area but bumps into her crush and his teammate instead. This brings her back to the room full of demons.

Their room is right next to her crush’s room so Saki realizes who they’re after. When she opens the room again, the demons are singing while drilling through the wall to grab their victim as he sings. Saki isn’t thrilled about the idea of them trying to grab her crush again.

That’s just scary. She slaughters all of them by herself this time breaking her wand in the process. Saki also managed to not get blood on herself this time at all but the room changed colors pretty quickly. Overall I’d say these episodes were about as Evil as a Politician (7). The hot springs episode subverted a lot of things and the next episode was great so a seven average is about right for both. If you’re looking for something different checkout CVoyage’s reviews for Toji no Miko. It’s ending soon so be sure to check it out. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

Mahou Shoujo Ore is Simulcast on Crunchyroll, Mondays at 10:00am EST.
