Ringing In A New Year Of Anime And More | Galvanic Post

The Winter 2019 Anime Season is almost upon us. So let’s take a look at what it offers and see what we’ll be covering, as well as other stuff we’ve got going on.

Content

So what new content can you guys expect around the site? Well, not a terrible lot’s changed since our last update. Bulletoon will be returning with Season 9 next weekend. But the season may wind up being cut a bit short with the planned revamp of the series on the way. Mind you, said revamp won’t look any different, the format’s just changing a bit. So look forward to that if we get the last pieces we need before the end of the season. Elsewise, the season will run concurrently with the Winter Anime Season with a planned 12-episode run.

We’re still not going to be doing anything major in the gaming sphere for a while. But, as mentioned before, we may start streaming, every now and then. Just for giggles.

Social Media

Still basically just Twitter. Though we’re working on ways to include other formats. I’ve been nagged constantly about Instagram, but the only thing I can think to bother putting on there would be titlecards so… yeah.

Conventions & Events

Nothing’s changed from before. We’re still making plans to attend MegaCon, this Spring. But, as I’ve said, I can’t really confirm if that’ll happen or not. What I can say is that we’re still probably going to be at AwesomeCon, as well as Baltimore Comic-Con, but just attending normally, not doing anything special, at either of those. Not likely, anyway. We’ll see.

Site Maintenance

The Bulletoon revamp actually isn’t going to be alone. We’re planning to update some minor aesthetics about the site at that time, including a new banner. As for other things, we’re intending to add a few more minor things to our Top Menu soon, so look forward to an update on that.

Schedule

All right. Here’s the part ya wanna know about. True to this weird little peaks-and-valleys pattern, this season is barely half of what we dealt with in the last one. But a lot of what we do take is going to pack quite a punch. So. Without further ado…

EvilBob’s List

Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) -Jan. 11
Boogiepop wa Warawanai (2019) (Boogiepop Never Laughs) –Jan. 4
Dororo -Jan. 7
Grimms Notes The Animation -Jan. 11

Voyager’s List

Mob Psycho 100 II -Jan. 7
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero) -Jan. 9
Date A Live Ⅲ -Jan. 11
Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) -Jan. 12

So yeah. Lots less for us to worry about. Of course, that’s not accounting for any of the shows carrying over from the previous seasons. In his case, that’d mean JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. And for me it’d be Black Clover and Toaru Majutsu no Index III, as well as Noragami Aragoto. Also, in terms of Full-Series reviews, no poll, this time. I’ve actually decided, myself, that this month I’ll be covering none other than Kaichou wa Maid-sama!

There may end up being one key change to Bob’s setup. As most of his shows seems to premiere in Friday slots, it’s possible he’ll end up having to temporarily adopt a format akin to Weekly Anime Redux, in that he’ll have to cover all his shows in one article. Lest there be a deluge of reviews, all on one day, lighting up everyone’s feeds and email lists like Christmas Trees. Pray for him.

With that in mind, we’ll be waiting to produce the actual schedule. But with so little to talk about, it’s safe to say that we won’t be dropping things at our leisure, this season. So, you know what that means! If an anime gets bad, we’re completely SOL! Exceeept…

Anime TKO

It’s baaack. It’s probably gonna be rather different, this time around, but we will definitely be doing this again because it was a lot of fun, the first time around. But, in case he asks, I didn’t rig anything. We weren’t even supposed to be competing, this time, but we decided to because the banter’s fun to write. Capisce? Ahem. SO, let’s talk a little about how this is gonna work.

The most obvious thing is how we’re gonna pull this off with half the amount of shows. Well, the way we’re going to handle that is by reducing the number of rounds. So we’re only going to have the Qualifiers, Semifinals, and Grand Finals. There will be no quarters. Because of that, each round, including the Grand Finals, will come after four episodes.

The Qualifiers will see us once again pit our shows against one another, with brackets we’ll determine after the first impressions are dealt with. Then, come the semifinals and through the grand finals, we’ll be turning our shows on our counterparts. Here’s hoping it’ll be another really close season, like this past Fall.

Patreon

Decided to put another freeze on the Patreon in order to rework it a bit. We’re about to start gearing it more toward original projects and Bulletoon, now that we’ve got the revamp coming up that’ll make it more Patreon friendly and original projects on the way to support. Stay Toon’d!

Discord Server

This should actually be launching along with the Bulletoon Revamp! Which means it may actually go live, in a few months, if not sooner!

The Wrap-Up

And that’s all she wrote! A quick little update post, but with a decent amount of good information, I’d say. Looking forward to talking more about the original projects, coming up, because we’ve actually got some announcements surrounding those that we’re holding onto for juuust a little longer. Look forward to it! Thanks for reading, as always! Keep up the Awesome!

Take Care,
C. Voyage
