SSSS.Gridman Episode 11 Recap | Is It Evil?

So far this it’s looking like Trigger is gonna be good this time. Maybe I dodged a bullet. How Evil is SSSS.Gridman episode 11?

SSSS.Gridman
Studio: Trigger
Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Mecha

Yuta is down. Akane has seemingly won the fight against Gridman from the start, this time. And with Yuta out of the fight, there’s no one to stand against Alexis and his horde of Kaiju. There’s just one little problem. Anti is still around. Anti actually volunteers to pick up the slack in Yuta’s place too.  It seems like he’s accepted his new role as a hero now.

Of course, Akane not making new Kaiju might’ve helped him a little. Alexis was forced to reuse kaiju that got wrecked before by Gridman. That wouldn’t be much of a challenge if they were summoned one at a time. But they weren’t. Alexis sent them in as a group. Every last one of them.

Anti fought them as a group and didn’t get wiped out. I guess that proves that he’s no pushover. While Anti was busy proving himself to the rest of the group, Yuta was busy napping out the day in a coma. It’s revealed that the doctors can’t explain why he’s in the coma either. This leads the Neon Genesis Junior High Students to go back to the shop and repair Junk after Akane trashed it.

While that’s going on, we get to learn more about Yuta and Gridman’s relationship. It’s kind of weird, so brace yourself. Yuta has been asleep this entire time. Oh, but it gets better. The one piloting Yuta’s body is Gridman, himself. And, apparently, Yuta won’t wake up until Gridman leaves his body, which he won’t do until his job is done. He explained it when he finally woke up.

I have sooo many questions now.  Like why does Gridman need to merge with a human, to begin with? Unless that scene that showed him getting impaled is the cause of it. If Gridman lost the ability to maintain a human form he could’ve hijacked Yuta to stay alive. Although I’m wondering if Yuta volunteered for that or was it just forced on him.

Anyway, While the guys are doing their thing, Rikka searches for Akane. At first, it seemed she wanted to kill Akane (Voyager: …no it didn’t) but she just talked instead. Their talk got interrupted by Alexis. Right after Gridman and Gridknight defeated the remaining Kaiju, he came to get her to make more Kaiju but she refused. Alexis doesn’t take that well and proceeds to turn her into a Kaiju instead.

So yeah, Trigger hasn’t pulled a Trigger. Yet. So it’s all good, so far. I’m getting a little nervous about the last one though. Overall I’d say this episode is about is Evil as a Villian (9). If you have time check out the latest update.  Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

SSSS.Gridman is on Crunchyroll.
