Chio’s School Road Episode 11 Recap | Is It Evil?

Chio’s shocking night routine revealed! And Manana smells something out of place. How Evil is the 11th episode of Chio’s School Road?

Chio’s School Road
Studio: Diomedea
Genre: Comedy, Slice of Life

First off I just gotta say, Chio’s got a major gaming addiction. I mean it’s worse than I thought it was. She makes me look even more casual than I’d like to admit. Sure I’ve stayed up late into the night playing games when I was in school but I was never as practiced at it as she appears to be. Chio even has an escape plan in case her mom drops in to check on her. It’s also kind of scary. Think about it. She has average grades and does all of this while maintaining them. Just imagine what she could do if she applied all of that energy to her school work. Oh. And betraying all of your teammates just to get the loot is both awful and hilarious.

Her gaming habit aside I thought her solution to get enough sleep and make it to school on time was creative. Using Manana as an alarm clock is great and all but what happens if Manana is sick?  And there’s always the possibility of Manana not showing up to get back at Chio for something. Then again, the way she woke Chio up could count as that.

You would think that getting hit just once would wake her up. I was glad we finally got to see how Chio games at night. I was always a little curious how she does that with her mom around. Now I have a few more questions about her mom. But it seems we only have one episode left so unless there’s a season two I doubt we’ll get much more on her.

The second portion started off with Manana at home, so that was new. She ends up watching something about BO and gets paranoid about her own. She gets so paranoid that she gets Chio to sniff one of her armpits to see if it stinks. Turns out she’s fine. Chio doesn’t smell anything bad from her so the problem is solved right? Yeah, Manana won’t rest until she’s sniffed Chio now. She convinces Chio eventually but that was awkward.

Manana quickly regretted her choice too. Chio’s pit smelled so bad that Manana thought that her own nose flew off. That leads to all kinds of other speculations that are just crazy. Manana somehow creates a world in her mind where Chio has had bad BO since they were children. She even takes it further to explain to herself why she hasn’t got a boyfriend yet. Chio gets concerned about Manana’s behavior and calls in Yuki for backup.

Manana convinces Yuki to do the re-sniff and, to Manana’s surprise, Yuki can’t smell the BO from before. So, Chio decides to sniff the opposite pit and her nose tries to escape. With Chio now made aware of the smell, she figures out the reason for her lopsided BO… a dog. Chio stopped to a dog and it made her stink. Problem solved. Poor Manana though. When she asks Yuki why the guy she liked got a different girl, Yuki simply tells her that the guy only likes pretty girls. Ouch.

Overall I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Super Villian (10). Lots of fun to be had this episode. If you have time be sure to check out Voyager’s Weekly Anime Redux articles. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
