Mitsuboshi Colors – Episode 7 Recap (Is It Evil?)

Did they just make a zombie outbreak into a game? How Evil is Mitsuboshi Colors episode 7?

Mitsuboshi Colors
Studio: SILVER LINK.
Genre: Comedy, Slice of Life

This episode took us right back to the hilarious antics that we loved the girls for already. It started with Yui walking home and bumping into Kotoha, who’s playing a game she just got three days ago.  Apparently, Sacchan got left behind because she did something stupid and got scolded by the teacher.

You’re surprised, right? Yeah me neither. After they discussed their weaknesses, I had a feeling we would get more of Sacchan doing stupid things. This time she was caught and tasked with picking up one trash bag worth of litter. Sacchan convinces the others to help her and off they go. The first thing they try to collect is the local policeman Saito. If you can imagine that doesn’t go well for them. Saito tells them they should be smart about their task and then Kotoha has a brilliant idea.

They loot the nearby public trash cans. That actually does work for them too. Yui is given some money by her mother and buys some candy to share with her friends. Soon after they get done eating the sweets, Sacchan’s super sense of smell kicks in. Something stinks in the neighborhood. Kotoha automatically assumes it’s a dead body because of course, she does. They always have those logic jumps. Sacchan leads the group to where the smell is coming from while calling to the “dead body” in a very outdoor voice.

The people on the street seem just a little unnerved. Anyway, the source of the stink is ginkgo nuts? The girls start to gather as many as they can carry, even after learning that cooking them is out of the question, at least for them. This is when I started to ask why they wanted to collect them still. If you really think about it though, there is only one place they’d use stinky nuts.

Hello, Saito my old friend. The girls rain down stinky hell on the unsuspecting cop.

And then come the zombies. The last part of this episode was a Halloween celebration.  The girls got dressed up as monsters and started to play a game. Yui was once again forced to play the game, but this time the game wasn’t hide-and-seek, so it was fair.

Yui was tasked with finding and defeating the boss, while Sacchan and Kotoha recruited townspeople to play as zombies. Yui, being the little girl that she is, actually thought the town was being taken over by zombies. As afraid as she was, she managed to win the game despite being cornered by zombies twice. It was pretty heroic to watch. Overall I would say this episode was about as Evil as Killer Robot Army (8). This series remains consistently enjoyable. It’s kind of a shame we don’t really get anything new. If you want another consistently funny series check out our reviews for Karakai Jozu no Takagi-sanIt’s still going strong. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

Keep It Classy,
Evil Bob
