Din’s Taxi Service…
One Mando sighting down who knows how many more. Let’s get back into the search.
Din and the child are on their way back from Mos Pelgo when they are waylaid by bandits, looking to take the child or whatever else they can get that’s valuable. Din defeats them with some clever tactics but he and the child end up having to walk to Mos Eisley since his bike is gone now. Upon arriving he picks up a job to transport a frog lady and her eggs to the place her husband is.
What does Din get in exchange? There have been Mando sightings on the same planet. There is a catch though. Din can’t use the hyperdrive on this job meaning they have to fly there at sublight speeds. On the way to their destination they encounter some familiar New Republic pilots who have picked up that Din’s ship was used in the prison break. Din reacts like you would expect, he tries to run. This results in his ship crashing on some barren ice planet and his ship in dire need of repairs. He opts to begin work in the morning but his passenger objects so he gets started right away.
With the repairs underway everything seems to be getting better for them until, The frog lady wanders into the caves to take a bath in warm water with her eggs. Din warns her it’s dangerous and helps her collect her eggs while the child wanders deeper into the caves and he accidentally awakens a hive of space spiders. With the caves now full of these horrible eight legged freaks the group makes a b-line back to the ship. They do this while a giant one is attacking them.
With the horde of spiders in hot pursuit the group barely makes it back to the ship with enough time to barricade themselves inside. Of course like all creepy crawlies a closed door isn’t keeping them out. When everything looks dire the New Republic pilots find them and save them. They also let Din go as after looking into the prison break more they realize that he helped bring the true criminals in. So Din gets off with a slap on the wrist. Now free to leave The Razor Crest limps back into space.
So this was a side quest then? Nothing noteworthy really happened. The ship getting damaged could’ve happened anywhere and we didn’t get any character development as far as the child and Din go. It’s a fun episode but it’s pretty much just filler. I hope you’ve enjoyed this. Thanks for letting me waste your time and Keep It Classy.
