Clone Wars

Summer of Star Wars | The Gods of Mortis

Hold on to your seats, things are about to get weird.

Clone Wars

This is one of the more mysterious arcs in this show. Here we get the three beings that may as well be gods. They seem to be directly linked to certain aspects of The Force itself. There’s a lot to go into here so, let’s just get started.

New Faces

The Father

Clone Wars

The Father is what most would refer to as a grey force user. He keeps the ballance as the Jedi did before light and dark got separated.

The Daughter

Clone Wars

The Daughter is basically the Light Side. She’s what every Jedi strives to be like.

The Son

Clone Wars

The Son… And you thought the Sith had edge to them.

Recaps

Season 3 Episode 15

Clone Wars

Anakin Obi-Wan and Ahsoka land on the strange diamond shaped world of Mortis where they Find that the world is directly affected by the Light and Dark sides of the force and upon meeting The Father they soon learn why they’re here. The Father wishes to test Anakin to make sure he’s the chosen one. Anakin passes the test but refuses to stay and keep the Son and Daughter in check. The Father warns them that leaving could be bad but they leave anyway.

Season 3 Episode 16

Clone Wars

The Son kidnaps Ahsoka forcing Obi-Wan and Anakin back to the surface to rescue her. Of course with Anakin piloting they crash back onto the surface. And when they find Ahsoka she’s been corrupted to the point that she actively attacks both of them. Oh and Obi-Wan with the help of The Daughter gains a dagger that can kill The Son. However, The Son gets it and accidentally kills his own sister ending the fight, for now. With Ahsoka dead and The Daughter mortally wounded, she decides to revive ahsoka with whats left of her life.

Season 3 Episode 17

Clone Wars

With the ship damaged Ahsoka has her hands full trying to fix it. In fact that all she really does this episode. Anakin offers to help The Father track his wayward son but he rejects the idea completely. And then Anakin becomes Vader far earlier than he’s supposed to… The Son does this by showing him the tyrant he’s gonna become and it understandably drives him to the dark side trying to prevent it. The Father erases Anakins memory of the event returning him to normal. And then he does the one thing he can to defeat The Son he kills himself which weakens the Son allowing Anakin to kill him.

Basic Character Analysis: The Father

The Father is neither light nor dark he’s grey and his morality reflects this as well. He’s what the Jedi order used to be and it shows that by being balanced he’s a much more stable individual. His son only reacts out of self interest and his daughter acts out of what’s best for the greater good. The Father waits and balances them both out by interfering when needed. He’s doing this for his children and for the greater good.

Random Fun Fact: The Ones

Back in the old EU The Ones were classified as Celestials, which had an empire before the Rakata in Knights of the Old Republic.

MVP: Obi-Wan

He’s the only one that didn’t need to be saved from The Son and that’s saying a lot.

Favorite Screen Shot

Clone Wars

This has got to be one of the coolest abilities we’ve seen used. The dude is holding a blade of plasma in his hand.

Conclusion

There is a lot more I could go into but, It might take up all of my work time. I don’t get paid to geek out. Anyway, those are my thoughts on this arc. Until next time, Keep It Classy.
