Maria is so cute. And most of this episode is all about her past, so get ready for the feels.
This was more of a sweet, heartfelt episode than a funny one. Maria got a lot of time to shine and we learned more than I thought we would about her childhood in particular. I do have to say that it was pretty sad. She got treated like dirt because of her magic which led to rumors about her being a noble’s illegitimate child. And to make matters worse, the Nobles don’t treat her any better. And as it turns out, her mother was terrible to her as well. This episode actually focused on showing maria’s growth, which got her mother to reconcile with her. Of course, this was only one part of the episode and the next part is a pretty good contrast to this one.
Catarina’s mother is absolutely terrifying when she’s mad. I just love how we went straight from an adorable mother-daughter bonding moment to a scene of absolute terror in the blink of an eye. And the best thing is that it’s Catarina’s fault. She forgot to change into her noble attire and went to speak with her mom in the farming clothing that she loathes
I don’t think we’ll see the punishment but I don’t think I want to. Overall this was a great episode. Again, not as funny as some of them have been but great character-building, nonetheless. I don’t have any theories today so that’s all I’ve got for now. Oh, and if you’re free, be sure to check out Burning Sky when you get the chance. So, until next time Keep It Classy.
