Quick Thoughts – Episode 11

The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

Time for me to eat some crow. I just got done telling people that this show can’t deliver its emotional parts because it always breaks them up with gags for no reason. This episode destroyed that comment, completely devolving me to a crybaby in the process. Well played Cautious Hero, well played.

Quick Thoughts – Episode 12

The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

Oh My Gawd! Episode 12 ended with a bang. Seiya did his thing and the tears came back with a vengeance. Seriously, they waited this long to do this and the payoff feels amazing because of it.

Favorite Sequence or Scene – Episode 11

The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

Ristarte learning the truth about herself was a big emotional moment. The fact that they broke up all the other moments with gags just to make this one part hit so hard tells me they knew exactly what they were doing. And the fact that they tricked me with this whole thing makes me happy. It’s not every day an anime can get me this good. Enough about me, though. Ristarte is Seiya’s dead lover reborn. I still just can’t, right now. It’s sad. Just watch it.

Favorite Sequence or Scene – Episode 12

The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

The Ishtar’s judgment scene was by far my favorite from the series as a whole. Not only did Seiya die, but Ristarte was being punished for trying to save him. Or so it seemed. Look, I’m not ruining this part for you. You need to see it for yourself.

Favorite Line – Episode 11

The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

Leave it to the mage to figure out where Seiya went before everyone else. Seriously, my brother said it right as she did and I was like “Nah bro, that wouldn’t happen.” That makes twice I was wrong about this show.

Favorite Line – Episode 12

The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

This part hit me hard. Ristarte’s obsession is seemingly gone as she frantically tries to save Seiya using all of her powers. I just love how she just wants the whole thing to be a happy ending because of what happened last time.

MVP: Ristarte

The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

These episodes were all about her in many ways. From her obsession with Seiya to her tragic backstory, we got a lot from her. It was interesting, seeing how she and the party tried to save Seiya. Even though he seemed bent on sacrificing himself to defeat the Demon Lord. God these last two episodes hit so hard.

Wrap-Up

The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

Well, those are my thoughts. I’m glad it surprised me the way that it did. I wasn’t sure I could take another blow like that after episode 11… and then we got episode 12. This was just a wild ride. So was the emotional impact of these episodes good for you too, or did it fall short? Let me know in the comments below. Also, make sure to check out our original project Burning Sky. We’ve been working ourselves to death with that one. Don’t let our sacrifice be in vain. The blood will forever stain your hands otherwise. Well, that’s all I have for you today.
