Soul Eater | Episode 48 Mini-Review | Soul Eater Summer

And so begins the end of the world. How will Death compare to Madness?

Quick Thoughts

Soul Eater

The battle between Asura and Lord Death begins and it’s as philosophical as one could expect a battle between two old gods. Buuut one is perhaps more engaging than the other. Ironically.

He doesn’t even know right from-? HOW DOES THIS BOY EVEN REMEMBER TO BREATHE?

Favorite Line

Soul Eater

The episode was filled with lines all waxing philosophical. This was really just the one that stood out the most. The idea that suppressing anxiety just creates more anxiety is quite relevant.

MVP: Lord Death

Soul Eater

Yes, Asura is the bad guy and therefore drives the episode technically, but Lord Death is as great a character as ever. Really, we’re not given enough time with Asura on a character level to form a real connection with him. And his personality’s pretty’s not especially… vivid. Meanwhile, Death is both a fun character and a wise one whose riddle-talk manages to not come across as boring or pretentious. He’s very directly indirect. I just love it. (plus he’s just more fun to watch, given the sillier nature of his attacks)

Wrap-Up

And that’s if for the battle of Old Gods! What did you think of the clash between these two? Let me know, down below. Catch ya next time. Keep up the awesome!
