Soul Eater | Episode 39 Mini-Review | Soul Eater Summer

Everyone keeps secrets.

Quick Thoughts

Soul Eater

A great look, once again, into the psyche of my favorite character in the show, giving us some good character development out of him and some really great interactions. It also explores the secrets kept by several other characters – Lord Death among them.

Favorite Screen Grab

Soul Eater

This scene is just really powerful and that hug, embracing Crona to assure him that everything’s going to be all right is just so beautiful.

Favorite Line

Soul Eater

Yes, it’s from the same scene, albeit earlier, but I just really like this line from Maka, essentially demanding that Crona stop putting himself down so much because she believes in him and thinks he’s a good person whom she’s proud to call a close friend. Maka really is just a great character, all around.

MVP: Crona

Soul Eater

This was a given, right? Seeing how badly the guilt from Crona’s actions is tearing him apart was just painful. In a good way for the story, of course. It was great to get into his head again and really break down how he’s processing all of this. His near relapse into the madness and Maka’s reaching out to him were just great. And you really feel for him with all the awful things Medusa (and Ragnarok) put him through.

Wrap-Up

And that’s that. What did you guys think of Crona and Maka’s little moment? Let me know, down below. Thanks for reading and catch ya next time. Keep up the Awesome!
