Soul Eater | Episode 26 Mini-Review | Soul Eater Summer

First day of school! Let’s get crazy!

Quick Thoughts

Soul Eater

There’s a shift on the horizon. Many, in fact. And this episode encapsulates them all so well. Crona’s first steps to improvement and Stein’s first slips (back) into madness, and more, the works.

Favorite Screen Grab

Soul Eater

I’ll admit that I laughed at this gag probably more than I should’ve. Especially when Black Star showed up… but it was funny, so…

Favorite Line

Soul Eater

The ‘meaningful echo’ trope, as I’ve stated, is a weakness of mine. And having Crona, of all characters, be the one to get this line is already a pretty big leap for him. In a good way.

MVP: Crona

Soul Eater

The main focus of the episode is on getting Crona acclimated to DWMA. And that setup is used as a vehicle to get some really amusing humor out of the character and those that surround him. But also to further develop the character as he’s forced to ‘interact’ with the world around him. I really appreciate what this episode ultimately is doing by having the rest of the present cast (mostly Maka) help him out with his… do we call it anxiety? Let’s call it anxiety. It’s just really nicely done and wouldn’t work as well if Crona wasn’t such a well-conceived character.

Wrap-Up

Done! Wow. We’ve covered a lot. And so quickly. So what do you think of Crona’s first real, positive steps in dealing with his anxiety issues and Ragnarok’s part in it? Let me know, down below! Catch ya next time. Keep up the Awesome!

Take Care,
