The benefit of reaching out.
Quick Thoughts
Gotta say, I love how this legit uses Maka’s empathy as a superpower. Making the solution to the problem her ability to reach out to Crona in a way that only she can and understand him.

…What? It’s cute, okay?
Favorite Line
How in the world do I choose? I’m going with this one because it’s probably the single best instance I’ve seen of the enemies to friends trope in Shounen despite it being a trope that the genre practically typifies by default. But the entirety of the Maka inner-soul sequence is also amazing on the same level, and Maka’s conclusion about him when she first embraces him to calm him down. All of it is just great.
MVP: Make & Crona
Soul’s part in this episode is great and necessary, of course. But the pure impact of the episode simply wouldn’t have been anywhere near what it was if not for these two and what they brought. Crona with his backstory and development, Maka with her show of empathy and understanding as a means of overcoming the problem in a means very atypical of this genre.
Wrap-Up
So. That’s that. What do you guys think of Crona’s character, at this point? I think he (or she, if you prefer) is a fantastic and nuanced character that I really love whenever he’s on-screen. Let me know, down below! Catch ya next time. Keep up the Awesome!
