This party has indeed gotten started.
Quick Thoughts
And now all that buildup begins to reach its apex. It’s a tense bit of setup as Medusa’s scheme unfolds, even as her cover is blown.
Favorite Screen Grab
I just like this entire sequence, really playing with the dual nature of both of these characters in a fun way with some neat imagery. The entire time, their faces are drawn sort of like classical drama masks to even reinforce the whole idea that neither character is exactly as they seem. And while that’s very clear for Medusa, it’s a bit less so for Stein. Yes, he puts on this facade of a loon, but that isn’t the only mask he wears.
Favorite Line
Lord Death just gets the best lines and monologues, really. I think that’s fair to say.
MVP: Stein
This dude’s just cool. Crazy as hell, but cool. I just love how on top of everything he seems while clearly masking his own demons. Medusa even makes it very clear that he’s not entirely immune to temptation. Which only makes him that much more interesting. Because he’s not just some invincible mentor. He’s got his own issues and doubts to work through as well. And while I highly doubt he would’ve bought the bait (Medusa was probably about to try to kill or otherwise remove him from the equation, anyway), that moment’s hesitation seals the deal.
Wrap-Up
The party’s over, but the show is just about to really begin. What did you think of the beginning of Medusa’s plot unfurling? Let me know, down below. Catch ya next time. Keep up the Awesome!
