The Power of Friendship, Love, and Sound Thrashings | Weekly Evil Volume 8 Recap Spring 2019

This week was full of all kinds of feelings for me. I cried, I laughed, and I even said awww a few times. Why is this season so good?

EvilBob: Well, this week was fun. And so cute!

Ry: I think I got cavities from a few of these shows.

EvilBob: It’s possible.

Recaps

One-Punch Man 2 Episode 8
One-Punch Man 2

EvilBob: The tournament has finally fallen under attack and things are looking grim because Saitama is suspiciously absent.

Ry: The monster recruitment drive has started and they’ve got one of the catchiest lines too. “Join us or die!”

EvilBob: So, they went to the tournament, hoping to get the strongest fighters to agree to become monsters. Only there are two problems with that. There are some heroes competing and One-Kick Man is still in great shape. Of course, the heros don’t slow the monsters down.

One-Punch Man 2

Ry: The big lead monster just one-shots a whole group of fighters without even trying, leaving One-Kick Man fighting the monsters all by himself.

EvilBob: At first the fight was in his favor. The dumb weaker monsters posed no threat to him at all.

Ry: Then a few of the fighters convert themselves into monsters, only to be kicked into next week.

EvilBob: And then one of the stronger fighters turns and it’s a much closer fight.

One-Punch Man 2

Ry: In the end, he wins but then big boss decides to fight him too. So he goes all out and hits the guy with everything he has.

EvilBob: His moves looked amazing but, in the end, they did absolutely nothing.

Ry: The counter attack leaves him a broken mess in more ways than one.

EvilBob: Two heroes even tried to save him and they only managed to last a second against the boss.

Ry: Beaten he tries to escape, only to be hit over and over again until he can’t move, then he cries for help gasping for air it seems no one heard his desperate cry for help.

One-Punch Man 2

EvilBob: And Saitama appears just before the episode ends… Overall it was a fun episode and I’d say it’s about as Evil as a Villain! (9).

Fruits Basket (2019) Episode 8
Fruits Basket (2019)

EvilBob: That is the happiest cleaning face I’ve ever seen.

Ry: And that is Bob stealing my line…

EvilBob: You can’t prove anything! Anyway, Tohru’s influence seems to get Kyou and Yuki do things even if they don’t want to. Like going to celebrate New Years at the main house.

Fruits Basket (2019)

Ry: She seems happy to let them spend it with their family even though she doesn’t have a family to do so with, herself.

EvilBob: She even tells her friends that she’ll be fine just so they won’t worry.

Ry: If you look at her eyes they, in fact, do not look like her normal happy eyes. This already implies something is wrong, and it’s also some good visual storytelling.

Fruits Basket (2019)

EvilBob: And then we have Saki. I love that wave girl. She single-handedly solved Tohru’s loneliness just by talking to the guys.

Ry: This sent them basically running back home as fast as they could run.

EvilBob: The both said something in unison Hell might’ve frozen over.

Fruits Basket (2019)

Ry: They got home only to find her completely happy, like she normally is.

EvilBob: Which is a lie. She was crying and staring at a picture of her mother, watching something that was sort of a New Years tradition for them.

Ry: She’s a bit embarrassed they found her crying and even tries to come up with some kind of excuse.

Fruits Basket (2019)

EvilBob: All in all, it was an adorable episode that hits you right in the feels. You know, like every episode of this show so far. I’d say it’s about as Evil as a Super Villain! (10).

Dororo (2019) Episode 20
Dororo (2019)

EvilBob: We got some interesting moments, this time around.

Ry: Yes we did. And one crazy monster.

Dororo (2019)

EvilBob: Isn’t that a Chimera? That looks an awful lot like a Chimera.

Ry: It did appear to be a combination lifeform of some sort. And it has a major case of the munchies.

EvilBob: And just like with the sharks, there’s an idiot human feeding it people. But this time Hyakkimaru and Dororo are on the menu.

Ry: They lose and are forced off a cliff, landing them in a situation with Dororo stuck and water filling the area, threatening to drown her.

EvilBob: Luckily an old friend arrives just in time to free her.

Dororo (2019)

Ry: The blind monk guy frees her and then Hyakkimaru rushes back up to where they fell from to slay the demon.

EvilBob: And boy does he. The last time we saw him that angry was when Mio proved too dumb to live. He tore the beast to shreds without mercy.

Ry: He doesn’t gain a body part back, this time, and it makes him even angrier. He then sets out to pay dear old dad a visit.

Dororo (2019)

EvilBob: I think everyone knows what the last few episodes are gonna be about. Overall it was an enjoyable episode. I’d say it’s as Evil as a Super Villian! (10).

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind Episode 32
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

EvilBob: I just gotta say, right now, that this is one of my favorite fights so far.

Ry: It’s an underground duel.

EvilBob: But it is one of the wildest fights in JoJo so far. The guy swims through concrete.

Ry: Making it harder and harder for Bucciarati to run away or get the upper hand in this fight.

EvilBob: So he does the one thing no one would expect. He takes the battle underground where his opponent has an even bigger advantage.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

Ry: Using his Stand to dig through the ground, like his foe this battle turns into a long chase for a while until the foe discovers a way to drive him out.

EvilBob: He makes concrete rain that can hit Bucciarati which makes him have to get creative to get out of the situation.

Ry: He draws his foe back underground where the foe begins to pull out everything and the kitchen sink including a car.

EvilBob: Bucciarati pops one of the tires, blowing out his foes eardrums.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

Ry: Without the use of his ears, the foe bumbles around even getting a leg ran over by a car. It’s pretty clear this battle is over.

EvilBob: Yeah. That was actually painful to watch. The guy just didn’t want to give up.

Ry: He soon found his old friend Cioccolata. And now they’ll be together forever in whatever landfill they end up in. Bucciarati then gets an unwelcome guest.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind

EvilBob: Yeah, I’m guessing the final battle starts in the next episode. This was an awesome one, though. In fact, I’d say it’s about as Evil as a Super Villian! (10).

Favorite Episode

Magi’s Grandson Episode 8
Magi’s Grandson

EvilBob: They did it they. Actually did it.

Ry: They finally confessed their true feelings.

EvilBob: And it was hilarious. I love how everyone was watching them.

Ry: Yeah, the creeper patrol was definitely spying this time.

Conclusion

Hitori Bocchi’s Lifestyle

EvilBob: This has been a fun week.

Ry: Yeah. Cute stuff, a Hero, and a deadly evil boss.

EvilBob: But most importantly… Friendship!

Ry: Yes so grab a buddy and a nice garbage truck.

EvilBob: I hate you.

Ry: That is what friendship looks like. Two guys in a garbage truck…

EvilBob: …If anyone is wondering, he’s adopted.

Ry:

EvilBob: Anyway, that’s all we have time for today. Thanks for letting us waste your time, people. The season may be almost over but we’ve still got some cool things coming up. So make sure to check the site regularly. And Keep It Classy.
