After the madness that was Christmas, I’m back! I had so much going on I forgot about this episode. So sorry about that. Anyway, we’ve made it to the season two finale. So, just how Evil is Golden Kamuy’s 24th episode?
Golden Kamuy
Studio: Geno Studio
Genre: Action, Adventure, Historical, Seinen
Well, I’m pretty sure we’re getting a season three. I’m very curious about what might happen now. I was expecting a lot more deaths to happen but none of the major players have died yet so, maybe they’re safe for now at least.
Anyway, with the raid on the prison now absolutely derailed and chaos breaking loose everywhere Sugimoto somehow manages to speak to Nopperabo. He also confirms the Nopperabo is indeed Asirpa’s father by showing the Asirpa’s knife. Nopperabo refuses to tell him anything about the gold without Asirpa present though. Well, I guess that plan failed too. Nopperabo did say one interest thing though. He told Sugimoto that he wasn’t the one that killed the Ainu.
And then he and Sugimoto get promptly sniped by Ogata. I knew the guy would betray them but I think this may be just a little premature. He killed the one guy who could tell them where the gold is and he blew his cover with Sugimoto. If Sugimoto ever reunites with the group someone’s gonna die.
On top of that, the group leaves Sugimoto for dead. Well all but Tanigaki, he went back and dragged Sugimoto safely into Lieutenant Tsurumi’s grasp… If you’re thinking they’re dead now you’ll be wrong. Lieutenant Tsurumi actually captures them and is seemingly helping them. Let’s just see how long that will last. Oh, before I forget Ogata seems to know Sugimoto isn’t dead. He even said that Sugimoto is probably pissed off.
He was right too, in the very next scene Sugimoto said he was gonna kill Ogata and Kiroranke. Oh, I forgot to mention it but Inkarmat was right, Kiroranke was lying. She kind of got stabbed after finding out he and Ogata were working together. If you’ve noticed that one group is absent from this so far there is a big reason for it.
Out of everything accomplished in the finale Hijikata’s group seems to have come out on top. Not only did they weaken all of their rivals at once but they managed to do this while sustaining no casualties of their own. And they have taken possession of a board full of information about the remain escaped tattooed prisoners.
So I guess that means Hijikata’s winning for now. Overall I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Super Villian (10). We didn’t get an announcement about a new season this time so I guess we’ll have a longer wait this time. Hopefully, it won’t be too long. I really want to know what going on without having to read the manga. I did hear that they cut a lot of content just to fit this into 12 more episodes I might go back and read what they cut out.
Anyway, if you have some free time check out what Voyager’s up to. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
Golden Kamuy’s second season is on Crunchyroll.
Keep It Classy,
Evil Bob
