One hero falls as another rises. How Evil is SSSS.Gridman episode 10?
SSSS.Gridman
Studio: Trigger
Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Mecha
This wasn’t like anything I was expecting to happen but at least it’s not terrible. Akane is becoming less stable after her repeated losses and the plan to save her seems to be a complete failure. There might still be a chance of her living through this but I do think it’s extremely low, at this point. Of course, one possibility is that she literally can’t die. If she’s the creator and reason for everyone to exist, then her death might bring the whole world with her.
Speculation aside, we got a lot of action, this time around. Akane seems more reluctant than she did before but she still produced a Kaiju for Alexis to animate. At first, it seemed like this one was going to be the easiest one they’ve ever fought but after they killed it a new one emerged from the body. To be fair, I don’t think she had much to do with the new one, she seemed as shocked by it as everyone else. Also, the new one had a pretty unique look going for it.
Yuta and the others returned to the battlefield, only to get their tails handed to them as quickly as they arrived on the scene. It didn’t seem more powerful than the ones they’ve fought but it was fighting in an unpredictable way. It ended up tearing Full Powered Gridman apart, back down to his base form. Right when things were looking grim, Anti came to Gridman’s rescue.
Anti has now been fully rejected by his creator as a failure. She told him to go do what he wants to do, which resulted in his wants getting in the way of her victory. He wants to destroy Gridman and to do that he will save Gridman. Anti even ended up evolving into a new form that mimics Gridman. It’s called the Gridknight.
While Gridknight trounces the Kaiju, Akane finally finds where Yuta transforms into Gridman. That’s right. It only took 10 whole episode for her to find out where the shop is. Isn’t she supposed to be a god or something? I think Alexis is lying to her, big time. Though she does note that even Gods don’t know everything. So there’s that.
Upon finding out about the shop, Akane confronts the heroes directly. I’m not going to lie, I kind of like the direct approach. She even stabs Yuta in the chest with a knife. I guess that’s one way to defeat Gridman.
Overall, I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Villian (9). If you have time, check out what Voyager is covering. I think the semifinals are gonna be pretty close. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
