Akanesasu Shoujo Episode 8 Recap | Is It Evil?

Wait, is this a cooldown episode? This looks an awful lot like a cool down episode. How Evil is Akanesasu Shoujo’s 8th episode?

It seems that the girls have finally decided to take a break from all the world-hopping they’ve been doing. It’s kind of weird that they’re just now taking a break. I thought this would’ve happened much sooner with all of the stuff they’ve been through so far (Voyager: Eh. Most story structure has the “break” come right before the final act, and the show is two thirds over). I mean they’ve almost died several times and it would just seem normal to take a break from that madness for a bit.

So how do they spend this time off? By working at their favorite cafe. Well I mean it’s more normal than fighting monsters, so I guess that works. Of course, Asuka has to keep things interesting by getting everyone to wear themed outfits each day. She even threatened to make them wear their summer wear and said something about them using their bodies to attract younger customers… I think Yu-chan is rubbing off on her.

Eventually, the other girls had things stop them from helping out, leaving Asuka to help out alone. Until her Twilit-self showed up. Then Asuka blackmailed her into helping out. Anyway, it was funny when most of Asuka’s friends mistook Twilit Asuka for her. Only Yu seemed to really know which was which.

Asuka wasn’t all that mean to her Twilit version though. She did take her home and feed her. The two even bonded a little bit before sharing the same dream about their missing brother. That’s something we hadn’t seen before. I wonder if it has something to do with how much time these two have spent with one another.

Almost right after the shared dream, Twilit Asuka’s Astral Module goes off. This time it’s detecting something a lot stronger than a Clutter. And this causes Twilit Asuka to give what sounds like her final farewells to Asuka. I’m guessing we’re going to see very soon if I’m right about her death.

Asuka caught on to what was happening and managed to write down the frequency to allow her and the others to follow her Twilit counterpart. And with that, the girls set out with Yu becoming the link, this time.

And that’s about all that happened. Not a lot happened that was all that important. In fact, I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Killer Robot Army (8). Yeah, it just wasn’t as engaging as most of the other episodes. Be sure to check out the newest Bulletoon Weekly when you get the chance. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
