JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind Episode 4 Recap | Is It Evil?

Polpo’s recruitment test continues as Giorno fights for his life. How Evil is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind’s fourth episode?

If fighting a Stand isn’t bad enough, Giorno figures out that the Stand itself is targeting anyone who saw the lighter relit. That may sound like a good thing, but the old man and Giorno weren’t the only ones to witness it. Kouichi noticed Giorno interacting with the old man as well. So when he comes out to confront Giorno he gets attacked. Kouichi is able to figure out what type of Stand is attacking them though. Turns out it’s a remote Stand, which means it’s basically a preprogrammed drone.

After getting their tails kicked for a little bit they find out that this Stand travels through the shadows. Using this data, Giorno lures it into the shadow of a tree, leaving himself open for an attack. When the Stand attacks Giorno puts his plan into motion, destroying the tree and causing the Stand to vanish.

With the Stand gone, Giorno has a lot to answer for. Kouichi is convinced that he needs to call for backup but doing so might compromise Giorno’s mission. Giorno manages to convince Kouichi not to by explaining to him what he is planning on the condition that he keeps it a secret for now.

With the test finally done, Giorno returns to Polpo, who gives some grandiose speech about God allowing murder under certain conditions. It kind of rubs Giorno the wrong way and he does something sneaky before he leaves. Giorno is really clever in how he operates because he made sure to get proof that he had been accepted first.

Giorno shows the proof to Bruno, who just asks him to follow. Kouichi does still call Joutarou but he keeps his promise to Giorno and doesn’t tell him a thing that could ruin Giorno’s plan. Oh and we get our first look at Bruno’s team. We didn’t get their names yet but this looks like it’s about to get wild.

Now, for Polpo’s fate. I knew, when Giorno got mad, that he did something but they made sure not to show us exactly what happened. Polpo is a big guy and goes to the fridge to get himself a little snack. In this case, it’s a banana. I was wondering what Giorno actually did until the banana morphed into a gun and Polpo ate a bullet. I have no idea what to think about that. It’s both the weirdest and one of the more gruesome deaths I’ve seen in a while.

Overall, I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Super Villian! (10). If you’re looking for something that’s a little less fantastical check out my recaps for Golden Kamuy. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind is on Crunchyroll.

I was lost at the banana part. Even if the gun was changed into a banana, how did Giorno get Polpo to pull the trigger? Even if his finger somehow got on the trigger, just holding onto the banana should not apply enough pressure to pull the trigger.
