Brotherhood of the World Award | Voyager’s Second Coming

Round 2. FIGHT!

Wait, why are we fighting? I’m actually a pacifist, so if we could resolve this without things coming to blows, that’d be just swell. whisper whisper. Eh? Oh, it’s just another nomination? And the intro was intended to be witty or something? whisper whisper. I see. Well aw, shucks. Don’t I feel all special and stuff.

Big thanks to Average Joe Reviews for the nomination! And now we can all really get a good look at how amazingly boring I am. Huzzah! So! Second verse, same as the first!

What job/profession would you want to have an anime based around?

Uuum. I honestly don’t know? I don’t tend to think about people’s jobs. I watch a lot of workplace comedies and stuff about people going about their daily grind. But… seldom do I actually think about what they do. For me, it’s usually the character interactions and camaraderie (or lack thereof) that draws me to the genre. And how the chemistry affects whatever work they’re doing. The job, itself, isn’t all that interesting to me at all, usually. Unless it’s something dangerous, I guess. And in real life, I just don’t find jobs all that interesting. We do ’em. We pay the bills with ’em. That’s about as far as I generally care about what people do.

Maybe something a little more silly, like a two or three-person team of marketing specialists/strategists and has to constantly come up with ways to sell really out-there/eccentric business concepts and products? I dunno. Could be fun.

In a format of around 100 to 200 words. What anime character do you feel is overrated and why?

Eeeh, I don’t honestly have that impulse. I mean, sure, I’ll roll my eyes at things like “Oh, Goku/Vegeta would curbstomp X in a fight, any day of the week!” type stuff. But I have some level of faith that most of the fanbase understands the problematic nature of overly sensational mindsets like that. I don’t really pay attention to the less levelheaded sectors of any fandom or anti-fandom. And within the more levelheaded climate, I don’t run into the problem much, if at all. I just understand why people like things (or don’t understand but accept that they do. Seldom do I feel obligated to question it) and move on with my anime viewing. Yeah. You lot were expecting me to say Kirito, weren’t you?

If you could erase any song from history, what song would it be and why?

I don’t really have that impulse either. If I don’t like a song, I just don’t listen to it. And that basically becomes the same as erasing it from history for me. It seems to work since I can’t honestly remember any songs I hate to that degree XD

See? My answers are sooo interestiiing!

What’s your favorite Dere and why?

Oof. That’s a bit difficult, actually. I think they can all certainly be extremely interesting when handled well. Though the qualifier is generally that they have to have a personality beyond this surface-level trope.

This is mostly tough because I can’t even really refer to all the Harem anime I watch for reference, because best girl tends to be a different trope across most of them. Unless someone would care to write me a compelling essay on how Shera from How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is somehow similar to Tokisaki, Kurumi from Date A Live. Good luck with that XD

I suppose I’d say Kuudere, just because I find that personality type doesn’t get as annoying when done poorly. Though I think when handled properly, Yandere and Tsundere have the potential to be far more interesting. Dandere is one I have a weakness for as well, though I think it’s harder to pull off since it hinges on an almost total lack of communication, which can be difficult to write well.

And Now For The Questions

“I’m Curious!”

All right. Second verse, same as the first.

Oh. Feel free to skip any of these.

  1. What’s your favorite kind of post you write/make on your site? Be it episodic reviews, editorial pieces, videos, etc. Why? Is it the same as what you like to read/watch/listen to from other bloggers? Or does personally writing it make the difference?
  2. What are your priorities when deciding what to watch/drop? Having Fun? Catching The Feels? Being Surprised? Intellectual Challenges? etc.
  3.  Here’s one just for giggles. If you could reimagine any anime you love into a completely different genre, what would it be and what genre would you swap it to?
  4. Soda, Pop, or Coke? And what’s your favorite kind, if any?
  5. Five anime characters for your ideal anime friend group. Go!

Alright, that’s it for Blogger Award 2: Electric Boogaloo! Thanks, again, for the nomination. And thanks as always for reading.

Keep up the Awesome
