Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion Episode 10 Recap | Is It Evil?

Another traitor bites the dust and the Mongols are flooding the area with troops. How Evil is the 10th episode of Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion?

Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion
Studio: NAZ
Genre: Historical, Drama, Action,

You know I was hoping for a long fight against this traitor and it was over in two moves. I keep forgetting that this show has more realistic fights than the ones I usually watch. I’m sort of new to historical anime still. My first was Golden Kamuy. Speaking of which, there’s a nice article comparing the two on a cultural level. Now, where was I? Oh, yeah the traitor got dead.

With that loose end cut down, we have a little downtime before things get even worse for the Islanders. Their morale is at an all-time high but this war is far from over. Something that Kuchii understands all too well. One thing that no one can dispute is that he knows war. In fact, it seems he enjoys it. And then we have Teruhi. She’s been watching over Kuchii everytime he’s slept and this time she stopped that kid who wants revenge from attacking him.

Kuchii sure has a lot of people that want him dead. He also has allies who are just sick of the island. The pirate guy that’s been helpful left with that weasel of a merchant, so there’s no telling if they’ll even make it out alive. And while we’re on the subject of bad things about to happen I have to bring up what’s happening at the castle.

All of the animals from the forest have retreated to the walls of the castle. Some of the people see this as a good thing but as it’s pointed out by Kuchii, the animals are running because there is nowhere to hide in the forest now. This is revealed to be truer than anyone realized as night falls upon the forest. The castle is surrounded by torchlights and those ain’t friendly.

There might be some hope though. The people in the castle spot a fleet on the horizon. It could very well be the reinforcements they’ve waited for. Of course, there’s always the possibility that what they’re seeing is another Mongol fleet preventing reinforcements from arriving. Our best look at the fleet is from the perspective of the fleeing pirate and merchant and all we see is lights on the ocean.

If we judge this situation based on what might be a fearful response from the pirate, this is most likely the Mongol fleet. There’s also the possibility that he was just surprised that the reinforcements have arrived so soon and he wouldn’t be the only one shocked if that’s the case. Unfortunately for us, we have to wait till next week before we know if this fleet is a good thing or not.

Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion

Overall I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Killer Robot Army (8). Looks Like I’ll be able to finish this one. I’m still thinking a whole lot of death is about to go down but if that’s the reinforcements this might not go as badly as I thought. If you haven’t already check out CVoyage’s latest Weekly Anime Redux article. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

  1. I think the after credits scene made it pretty clear that it wasn’t the reinforcements, though that may just be messing with us. Still, things aren’t looking good for the characters and considering the scene we saw way back at the beginning, I’m guessing things are about to get pretty bad.
