Cells at Work Episode 8 Recap | Is It Evil?

A whole lot of Red in this episode. At least we finally got to see her do her job. How Evil is the 8th episode of Cells at Work?

Cells at Work
Studio: David Production
Genre: Comedy, Slice of Life, Slice of Life,

I have to say this episode wasn’t what I was expecting to follow an arc about cancer. This episode was all about Red trying to actually finish her assignments without involving other people. She has gotten tired of others needing to help her along with her job and feels bad that others have gotten involved. So Red has brought it upon herself to complete her assignments without anyone’s help.

She has a run in with some sort of spiky germ and gets saved by White. Seeing White get injured saving her only reinforces the fact that Red needs to become more competent at her job. Red leaves White behind and continues her quest to complete her assignments alone… Or does she? White does this whole ninja thing helping her from the shadows to make sure she can complete her assignments. Some of them are pretty obvious too.

I think Red is just oblivious, that or White blends in with the sign. But that wasn’t even the first time he did something that should’ve given himself away either. Anyway, Thanks to White’s shadow guidance Red is on track with her assignments most of the episode. Red actually only gets lost the one time she ran into this episode so that’s pretty impressive.

There were a few times when White got distracted doing other things. He was seen talking to other cells a few times and he did end up on a different floor but he was still able to catch up with Red afterward. And then there’s my favorite part of the entire episode. A couple of germs end up targetting Red and they set up an ambush for her.  This would be normal if White didn’t show up and wiped them out silently. He even ducked out of the way so Red wouldn’t see him.

That was probably the hardest part of his job this episode. It’s pretty much smooth sailing for both of them after that. We did get a little more like Killer T being jealous of Red and White’s relationship and how White is trying not to be scary, but that was minor compared Red’s little story going on.

It was nice to get some character development in this episode. Seeing Red trying to improve was great and White’s addition was just funny. Having a touching episode like this makes me wonder what kind of episode is coming at us next. I mean I love these semi-peaceful episodes but they just fought cancer. And we know this is at least the second time this body has fought cancer, it most likely ain’t over yet. I’m getting ahead of my self this is Red’s day. Just look how happy she is about completing her assignments.

Cells at Work

Overall I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Super Villian! (10). Nice cooldown episode that was a lot of fun to watch. Not much else I can really say that I haven’t already. If you haven’t checked out the latest Bulletoon Weekly you should probably get on it. CVoyage works his butt off on those episodes. And don’t forget to look for today’s episode as well. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

This was an adorable episode and I really love just watching Red and White go about their daily business. Still, I assume they are going to fight something next week.
