Rumors have been circling that neither Chris Pine nor Chris Hemsworth will be involved in Star Trek 4? What’s going on? Stay Toon’d!

Our Take: Hearing about the deal that Paramount had in place, this isn’t overly surprising. But it is a bit disappointing. Hopefully talks don’t completely fall through. Chris Pine is a huge reason behind why the new Star Trek movies are so enjoyable. And seeing him get to actually interact with Chris Hemsworth, who previously played his father in the 2009 film, would be incredibly interesting.

For those unaware, the 2009 version of events involved the death of Captain Kirk’s father, who was played by Chris Hemsworth at the time. Rumor has it that the plot of the latest Star Trek movie would involve time travel. As such, the two Kirks would be able to actually interact with one another. Possibly get into some trippy Multiverse theory stuff that would honestly be right up Star Trek’s alley. After all, it would be boldly going where no one has gone before. Sort of.
