Cells at Work Episode 5 Recap | Is It Evil?

What could be worse than food poisoning? Allergies. How Evil is the 5th episode of Cells at Work?

Cells at Work
Studio: David Production
Genre: Comedy, Slice of Life, Slice of Life,

I guess having a character that does nothing to help is becoming a thing in this show. Last time we got that ninja cell this time its memory cell. Both ave warning and did nothing to actually help solve the problem when it took shape. This time the useless cell in question was reciting a legend that foretold the world’s destruction.  He would tell them what is about to happen but would do nothing to stop it from happening.

Anyway, let’s get into the episode. This episode started off with a flaming comet entering the world. That comet just happens to be the way this depicts pollen entering the human body. To make things even worse inside of the comet there is a creature bent on destroying the world. It gets even better, there are a lot of comets that land at the same time. They land in what looks like a lake or ocean so the white blood cells can’t get them when they first land. Unfortunately for Red one just happens to find her while she’s doing her job.

White does save her by one shooting the beast and then he identifies it by eating a part of it. Too bad knowing the identity of the invaders won’t help kill the army that attacks next. Somewhere along the line, the memory cell comes into play followed by B cell. B cell blast the beast with his antibodies and it seems to be working.

That is until the Fat cell does her job a little too well and floods the entire nose city area. Then the tear dam breaks and the sneeze rocket start bombing the city itself everything pretty much goes to hell really really fast.

Right when it looks like things can’t get any worse Red arrives with a spherical package. When the package is open Steroid the killer robot appears and he decides that everything must go. The robot starts destroying anything and everyone regardless of which side they belong too.

He even specifically chases the two that seem responsible for this and tries to kill them. At the end of this outburst, the town has been reduced to rubble and all of the invaders are dead. So I guessed it worked out? One thing is for sure Fat cell and B cell aren’t likely to do that again, just look at them run.

Cells at Work

Overall I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Super Villian! (10). Still as entertaining as ever though I hope we stop getting useless characters this is starting to rub me the wrong way. If you want something that is equally as ridiculous check out my recaps of Chio’s School Road. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

If only the cells learned from this experience. And yet, the next pollen allergen that gets in will be dealt with the same way. Every-time I get hit with allergies I wonder why my body hasn’t woken up to the fact that it’s over-reactive response is worse than the stuff I’m breathing in.
