This is a horror show, right? How Evil is the fourth episode of Angels of Death?
Angels of Death
Studio: J.C. Staff
Genre: Mystery, Horror,
I’m still not sure what to make of this show. I was expecting things to get darker but it seems like this show is taking an oddly lightly hearted approach to horror. A lot more comedy got added in even compared to its first three episodes and now I’m wondering if this is more of a dark comedy than an actual horror series. That’s not a bad thing this episode is probably the best one so far, but that wasn’t hard to do when the first few had a hard time making sense.
Anyway, let’s get into the episode. Ray and Zack have made it to the next floor and they can’t go on. There are iron bars blocking the path ahead with no way for Ray to unlock them. Zack resorts to the only thing he knows how to do, he hits the bars really hard with the back end of his scythe. This triggers some automated defenses that Zack barely manages to get himself and Ray away from. It also wakes up the floor master. Cathy the floor master directs them to a room to take mugshots? Okay then…
This is one of those parts I was talking about earlier. It’s a silly scene with Ray and Zack fussing about how to actually take the pictures. It’s funny how these two are developing as characters even though this situation is not the best for it, unlike a certain show not too long ago. Anyway, pleased with the photo’s Cathy allows them to pass into the first of many punishment rooms.
The first room looks like a mock courtroom. There are dummies in the benches to act like the jury and a lone chair that looks an awful lot like an electric chair. While investigating the room Zack decides that he needs a break and he sits in the chair. Turns out that it’s an electric chair after all.
With Zack getting shock-therapy Ray has to find a way to turn of the device. Which she does by adopting Zacks number one tactic. Their trouble is far from over though. Cathy unlocks the door to the next punishment this time the door to it has a biohazard symbol on it and there is a dead body in it.
The door locks behind them as they enter and they are informed that it’s a gas chamber and there is only one gas mask in the room. As they try to solve the room Cathy is laughing hysterically and that is where the episode ends.
Overall I’d say this episode is about as Evil as a Politician (7). It might make more sense but I didn’t enjoy this more than the others. Also, I can’t wait for Zack to kill Cathy. She is way too annoying the last guy they fought was creepy Cathy is just annoying. Remeber if Angels of Death doesn’t do it for you just check out CVoyage’s Anime Week reviews. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
