Nil Admirari no Tembin – Episodes 8 – 9 Recap (Is It Evil?)

The main quest is back with a vengeance. How Evil are the 8th and 9th episodes of Nil Admirari no Tembin?

Well, Akira had his conversation with his boss and that didn’t go well. Akira’s low tolerance for blood made him completely useless in the confrontation and he was barely in episode 8 at all. It was nice to see that Tsugumi did tell the rest of the group about Akira’s supposed betrayal although they didn’t seem to be buying it either.

The story shifts to Hayato and his college sempai who is a journalist helping them investigate the cursed tomes. The journalist ends up following the professor from before and steals a book from his office hoping it’s a cursed tome, Tsugumi exams the book, but it turns out to be a dud. During the continued investigation Tsugumi decides to learn more about the cursed tomes which lead to the revelation that they don’t have to be books. Which happens to be perfect timing for their journalist friend. He just got a letter from someone and the letter its self is a tome.

It kind of made him go crazy and catch a trolly on fire. That is all for episode 8. Episode 9 brought something else to the table. It started with an assassination attempt on the Prime Minister. This is where things got confusing for me. They make sure Tsugumi has an escort because of what the villain did but they fail to send an escort with the Prime Minister’s son.

With the evidence pointing to a possible military takeover, you would think they would be a bit more careful with anyone with relations to the Prime Minister. On top of that, a lot of the Prime Minister’s allies are being killed off too. I’m getting off topic but I would love to see them address this before another assassination attempt is made.

And then we have Tsugumi’s guards. They end up leaving her by herself at a restaurant where she runs into the leader of the book burners from before. If he had been there to capture her he could’ve easily done it. This time he just wanted to talk to her and ask her to join him again. It was more playful this time but he leaves her without causing any trouble.

Tsugumi decides to walk back to base with an officer in tow and this is when she gets grabbed by the Raven goons. She wakes up in a hidden library of cursed tomes. The boss of the Raven group has decided that she no longer has a choice of when to join him. He ends up telling us all of his evil and very stupid plan including the part that Tsugumi will play helping him create progeny to take up his mantle and Tsugumi’s face says it all.

The heroes better get there fast this guy is insane. He has two groups out to get him and he’s having delusions of being an emperor. Overall these episodes are about as Evil as a Villain (9). I can’t really complain about the villain. I have my doubts that he is even the one we really have to worry about. They did mention that the professor is using drugs to affect peoples minds maybe this villain is just another one of his victims? Anyway if you want to read something different checkout CVoyage’s reviews for My Hero Academia. Make sure to cheer for Deku and his friends. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
