And now she can tease him from the comfort of her own home.

EvilBob: I wonder if he’s ever going to figure out why he’s losing so much. He’s happy to get her contact information, but did he even consider the repercussions?
CVoyage: Obviously not. At least not until-
EvilBob: He even told her exactly what he was planning to do with her contact information.
CVoyage: Yeah, surprisingly enough, that’s a first.
EvilBob: Why did he feel the need to say it’s not for anything weird? Doesn’t that make it weird?
CVoyage: Bob, we’re talking about puppy love, here. This is no place for logic.
EvilBob: Point.
CVoyage: In fairness, the teasing is growing closer to flirting the longer it goes on. So it’d make sense that he’d feel a tad awkward.
EvilBob: Still love how she gave him her contact information even knowing what he was planning to do.
CVoyage: True. But I’ll be honest. The star of this episode is the middle skit. Those girls are just too cute and funny. I also still appreciate the little breaks they give from the rest of the show.

“Haha! He keeps praising us!” “Don’t let it go to your head.” “I’m his favorite…”
EvilBob: The breaks are nice. Your spirit animal was funny as always too.
CVoyage: Of course she was. She’s my spirit animal.
EvilBob: And then we have Nishikata resorting to trying to scare Takagi with videos.
CVoyage: I won’t lie, that trick she pulled with the picture of the girl was playing dirty. But it was also amazing so I won’t complain.
EvilBob: Yeah, that was kind of a low blow. But that video he showed her was just disturbing. Her reaction to the video was pretty funny.
CVoyage: You mean her non-reaction?
EvilBob: Yeah, I cringed at the video myself. She must be used to things like that or something.
CVoyage: Or she has nerves of steel. But I’m sorry. We just have to talk about the next segment. Takagi calling Nishikata at night is probably the most adorable scene in this show so far. I mean they even did the whole “no you hang up first” thing. Come on man, my heart melted after that.
EvilBob: …You just stole all the good things to say.
CVoyage: Hey, Bob, guess what.
EvilBob: So help me God, if you say git gud…
CVoyage: Okay…
EvilBob: …
CVoyage: What? I didn’t say it.
EvilBob: Someday, somehow I will defeat you.
CVoyage: If you say so.
EvilBob: Anyway, we can’t close this out and not talk about the last skit of the episode – the picture.
CVoyage: This skit started out innocently enough. All Nishikata wanted is to take a picture of Takagi’s “funny” face.
EvilBob: That gets postponed by a toy snake. Just watch it, you’ll see what we mean.
CVoyage: Naturally he tries to get her back.
EvilBob: And naturally he fails.
CVoyage: He tries to take an embarrassing picture of her while she’s laughing. But she strikes a pose with the reflexes of The Flash.
EvilBob: Has she practiced that? It was perfectly timed and everything.
CVoyage: She knows him so well that she can read his mind before he even makes a move. But the scene did have an adorable conclusion with Nishikata deciding to keep the picture as “leverage.”
EvilBob: Sure, that’s why he kept it.
CVoyage: I actually liked it. Aside from being cute, it does show some development in the dynamic between them. Dense as he is, Nishikata’s actually coming around a little bit. Even if he won’t admit it. Hey, baby steps.
EvilBob: Overall this episode was about as Evil as a Super Villain (10). Still can’t stop smiling every time I watch this show. They keep mixing up the jokes so I have nothing to complain about. I think the picture part was my favorite moment in the show so far.
CVoyage: I’m inclined to agree. It wasn’t the funniest skit in the show, but it was probably the sweetest. It was definitely a Super Effective way of moving things forward. Their dynamic going through a nice and subtle shift, but their interactions remain a lot of fun. But if you wanna check out something where the relationships are a bit more… chaotic, then check out EvilBob’s recaps of Ryuuou no Oshigoto!

“Hmm? Nishikata, we should check it out. It might be like 100% Unre-” “Yah! Keep your voice down, Takagi-san!”
EvilBob: Or if you want to maintain your sanity with him-
CVoyage: HA!
EvilBob: Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san is Simulcast on Crunchyroll, Mondays at 11:30am EST. And that’s basically all we’ve got for you today, folks. Thanks for letting us waste your time, people.
