DanMachi Announces New Anime Projects! – Electric Editorial

Oh my gods, YES!!!

In case it’s unclear, I’m a big fan of DanMachi. Not so much the spin-off, but it had its moments. Still, that’s a discussion for another time. There is, after all, a full-series review on the way in the not-too-distant future. Anyway, I’ve been waiting for years to hear some kind of development regarding the progress of this show’s continuation. If nothing else, the spin-off made it clear that the interest was there. They weren’t simply ignoring this charming universe. It gave me some semblance of hope that they’d eventually get around to it. And now my patience has been rewarded! Danmachi is getting not just a new season, but also an anime film!

There’s still not a lot of information to go on. The announcement revealed the title of the film project, Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka: Arrow of the Orion, as well as the film’s first visual and details regarding its story.

There was more emphasis on it than on the upcoming second season, which was revealed purely with a title image. As far as I can tell, none of the cast will be changing. Bell Cranel will still be voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. Meanwhile, Waifu, aka Hestia, appears to still be played by the increasingly enjoyable Inori Minase. It’s unknown if any of the staff, or even the entire studio is going to be changing. We know this isn’t an uncommon occurrence in the anime world. However, it’s unlikely, seeing as the DanMachi spin-off was also handled by J.C Staff.

The film project will feature an original story, written by series creator, Fujino Ōmori. We can probably expect more details on the scenario at a later time. At present, however, that’s all we have to go on and no release dates have been announced for anything. But suffice it to say, these are some projects I am highly anticipating.
