I-I can’t even, I hope Joseph gets the most brutal death. How Evil is Mahoutsukai No Yome episode 19?
Mahoutsukai no Yome
Studio: Wit Studio
Genre: Drama, Romance, Magic
Honestly, the first part of this episode was hard to watch and not just because it was dimly lit. Joseph mutilated one of the baby dragons and he did this in front of the other baby dragon. I’ve moved from disliking Joseph to wanting to murder him. We don’t even know why he killed one of them. I do have a few theories but we’ll get to that later.
Speaking of Joseph, he is apparently haunting Chise’s dreams now too. I say dreams, but this one seemed more like some kind of vision or premonition. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but boy was it creepy. Oh, and Lindel has apparently recruited the sorcerers to help him retrieve the baby dragons. When Chise finally wakes up Alice shows up to help her get dressed.
I found this a little strange due to Elias’s dealings with the sorcerers. He let them into his home even though they aren’t exactly friends. That kind of proves something big is going down. I hate to think about it, there’s only a few episode left, but this build up is getting intense now. It’s starting to feel like a grand finale.
In the living room, Chise is greeted by two new sorcerers as well as Alice’s boss. Apparently, they are all from the college that wanted Chise a while back. I’m surprised that plot point made a return at all. Anyway, these guys came to ask Elias for help finding the missing dragons. Elias declines the request, but Chise gets him to accept it instead.
In a strange twist, the group follows Chise’s dream to find out the dragon is being auctioned in London and it gets better. Chise has a contact in the form of the guy that sold her to Elias. With his help, the group gets in on the auction without a hitch. He even gives Chise her share of the money from when Elias bought her… Look I didn’t write the story, I just recap it. Now to those theories, I mentioned. I think Joseph wants to die. Why else would he turn all these people against him? If anyone can figure out a way to kill him it would be this team. My last theory and this one is a little out there. Joseph want’s to pass the curse to Chise, which might kill him anyway.
Anyway, With her new wealth, Chise is able to buy the dragonling and everyone goes home happy… I wish that were true. You see what had happened was, the dragon decided to grow up and kill everyone so it could escape. Joseph’s mutilation apparently broke the poor things mind. I’m pretty sure they’ll have to kill the dragon at this point. Overall I’d say this episode was about as Evil as a Super Villian (10). It’s as enjoyable as it’s always been, but you might want to have some tissues on hand for this one. If you want something that makes you cry for other reasons, check out our reviews for Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san. It’s arguably the best series this season. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
Keep It Classy,
Evil Bob
