Hakyu Hoshin Engi – Episode 6 Recap (Is It Evil?)

Oh look. We really do have a three-sided war. Lovely, isn’t it? How Evil is Hakyu Hoshin Engi episode 6?

Hakyu Hoshin Engi
Studio: C-Station
Genre: Adventure

This episode didn’t start out with a look at the future. We instead got a scene with the king and Bunchuu talking. Relax, it’s not as boring as it sounds. The king apparently was begging for help right before he punched something into oblivion. Bunchuu was surprised by this and automatically asked what Dakki did to him.  We don’t get the answer but I assume she plans on using him as some sort of human shield or weapon.

I’m going to be talking about some things out of order here so bear with me. It seems there are two sects of immortal beings.  One sect presides over the mountain that Taikoubou comes from. While the other sect lives in a floating machine-looking island.  Oh yeah. Both sects seem to dislike each other, but we’ll get back to that.

Back in the human world, things aren’t going that great. The old man that Taikoubou was supposed to help is dying and his womanizing son has to take his place. Taikoubou does manage to help the transition go smoothly, for the most part. The young new ruler declares war on Dakki’s country too. I’m guessing next episode will be the first battle of the war.

Dakki also prepares for the war by seducing her entire nation… I swear if this show pulls itself together it may be a really fun series. I’ve just now realized this Dakki is a female Dio. They are the worst of the worst as far as villains go. Dakki has the added advantage of being able to seduce almost everyone, but Dio could hypnotize people. And they are both so petty. This show has gained a little more respect from me, if only because of her.

Enough of me admiring villains. Taikoubou had this plan to get both sects of Immortals into a treaty of sorts. After all, his mission only involved getting rid of the ones living in the human world.  This would be a perfect plan, but Dakki has stolen the soul of the island sect’s leader. To make matters even worse, it seems they’ve sided with her.

Taikoubou is heading right into a trap it seems. I’m not sure if Dakki is waiting for him or not. The ending of this episode made it seem that way, seeing how the last shot was Dakki with her eyes glowing. Overall I would say this episode was about as Evil as The Dark Side (6). The thing I hated most wasn’t in this episode and Dakki being basically a female Dio is hard not for me to like. It’s an okay series, but don’t think a lot of my friends would like it. I may recommend it a little more… but only a little. If you want something that’s a little safer, check out CVoyage’s reviews for Maerchen Maedchen. That show seems to be getting better. Faster than this one, anyway. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

Keep It Classy,
Evil Bob
