Ryuuou No Oshigoto! – Episode 6 Recap (Is It Evil?)

Yaichi just lost. How Evil is Ryuuou No Oshigoto! episode 6?

Ryuuou No Oshigoto!
Studio: Project No.9
Genre: Comedy, Romance

This episode started out with a Yaichi flashback. It involved him fighting someone call the Dual Wielder. He happens to be the one guy Yaichi has always lost to. Now I’m not familiar with a legit strategy in shogi looks like, but I’m pretty sure hitting on you opponent is frowned upon. That is the reason Yaichi lost to this guy, in the flashback.

After the flashback, we see Yaichi gets all Shounen on us determined to get stronger and all that. He ends up going to another dojo this one is directly attached to a bathhouse. I have a bad feeling about this already. With a show this campy I guessing we will see a very uncomfortable beach scene soon too.

I Will Get Stronger!

Yachi challenges the owner of the dojo to a match. The owner’s nickname is The Maestro by the way. He plays Yaichi like a flute defeating him without much effort at all. It’s kind of weird, Yahichi is supposedly the champion of the sport but in one episode we see two defeats. I guess there truly is always someone better even in anime.

Yaichi asks The Maestro to teach him and Ai follows suit. So, both of them become students under this new master. There is one catch though, both of them have to work at the bathhouse and the dojo as payment for the lessons. At this point, I knew something bad was going to happen. Yaichi is in the worst position for Ginko to get the wrong idea again.

Y-you, want me to what?

Surprisingly everything goes relatively smooth during the training and work. I expected everything to go wrong somehow considering where they were working but nothing of note happened, I was relieved. This show has crossed some lines that made me rethink watching it, but this time it stayed away from that line.

And then… Ai and her friends decided to give Yaichi a massage. They got up on his back and stepped on him. Yeah, right when I thought it wouldn’t get weird this episode. It’s a good thing Ginko didn’t show up. She would’ve gotten the wrong idea and…

Oh, look she did show up. Those setups are always so obvious, kind of wish they weren’t. After the misunderstanding Yaichi when into another match against the guy he has never beat. The episode ends with Yaichi about to lose so unless he finds a way to win his lose should start out the next episode. Overall this episode was about as Evil as a Career Criminal (3). It’s fun and all but so predictable. This isn’t one of the best the season at all.

If you like this show but want something that has a lot more to it check out CVoyage’s reviews of Beatless. From what he’s said about it it’s at least better than this show when it comes to substance. Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

Keep It Classy,
Evil Bob
