Oh. Guess we’re gonna ride the brakes on this one. Okay.
Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card
Studio: Madhouse
Genre: Magical Girl
CVoyage: Well, that was remarkably uneventful.
EvilBob: Except for the last five minutes. I mean, last episode took a while to get going, but this was uncharacteristically slow. It’s almost like they’re up to something.
CVoyage: So help me, if you start up with another conspiracy theory…
EvilBob: No, no, don’t worry. I’m not gonna talk about Tomoyo’s obvious connections to all this.

“They’re onto me. I’ll have to be careful now…”
CVoyage: Bob, I swear to god.
EvilBob: I’m just sayin’. Kinda convenient that this week’s card lets you record things. And it was watching her wherever she went. Now who else does that, I wonder?
CVoyage: …
EvilBob: And Sakura does point out that it sounds a lot like a certain someone’s old camcorder.
CVoyage: ANYWAY, not a lot happened, this time. Most of what we got was obviously setting up for stuff we’ll be getting down the line.
EvilBob: Like Akiho’s “stuffed rabbit,” Momo, which is totally not alive in any way and is just a toy she carries around with her.

“They’ll never know. Hehe…”
CVoyage: And Sakura having another vision, which they actually imply in a later scene is a premonition. But other than that, there’s just not much to go on. So there’s really no need to do the usual spiel of dividing the review into parts.
EvilBob: Heck, we’ve almost hit the minimum word count already, and you’ve barely had to get wordy at all.
CVoyage: …
EvilBob: Well, at least it’s enjoyable nothing. It’s cute, the characters are funny, it still feels like Cardcaptor Sakura.
CVoyage: Yeah. The singing bit seemed to come from nowhere, but I get it. It was basically just one more thing to normalize Akiho to us as much as possible. It was a nice little bit.

The cuteness intensifies.
CVoyage: But we all know how this is going to end, really.
EvilBob: Not well. That’s for sure.
CVoyage: Yeah. The slow pace was a bit distracting, but my only real problem with the episode was-
EvilBob: Not enough Tomoyo?
CVoyage: YES! C’mon, man! How you gonna shaft Best Girl, like that?! Tomoyo is the best thing about the show! That ain’t right!
EvilBob: It’s okay, dude. It’s cool. We’ll get a lot more of her soon when she enacts her ultimate plan.
CVoyage: …The episode was slow but charming. Funny in parts, and overall Easy Viewing. It’s a cooldown episode, so the next one’s probably gonna have waaay more happening. I can’t imagine they’d do three of these slow ones in a row.
EvilBob: Oh. Well, I guess this episode was about as evil as… a Killer Robot Army (8). Basically all the stuff he said. Not much happened, but it was enjoyable. But if you want something a bit more eventful, check out my latest review of Mitsuboshi Colors. It’s… way busier.

“UWAAAH! W-w-wait! Come back! We’re totally not boring! Waaait!”
CVoyage: But if you’d like to keep going with more Cardcaptor Sakura, then it’s Simulcast on Crunchyroll, Saturdays at 8:00pm EST.
EvilBob: That’s pretty much all we’ve got for you today. Thanks for letting us waste your time, people.
CVoyage: As always, thanks for reading, folks. Remember to keep up the awesome.
EvilBob: And keep it classy.
CVoyage: Take care.
