RWBY Volume 5 – Episode 11 Recap (Is It Evil?)
Apparently, we’re back to this again… How evil is RWBY Volume 5 episode 11?
Haven is finally under attack. It took them forever to get this far but finally, we have what promises to be a major battle on our hands. The attack started when Raven warped in Cinder’s team. I’m still waiting for her to turn sides, based on what she said to her maiden before they left camp, but oh well. Oscar took on Leo which was a bit surprising as he was kicking his tail royalty. Leo might have just been in shock that Ozpin was back though.
There were some less than stellar matchups happening though. Jaune was sent up against Cinder… That sounds like an even worse idea, on paper. But it gets better. Weiss fought against a maiden too. Her summoning is cool and all, but who thought this sounded like a good idea? Anyway, back to Jaune. Cinder made him look like a fool. And it didn’t help that he was attacking out of anger. He does still want’s revenge for what happened last time Cinder showed up.
As you can imagine, Jaune is totally outclassed. At least so far. Ruby tried to save him and her eye thing started to flare up, and then she got taken out with a single hit by Emerald. This brings me to the one thing that makes no sense to me in this episode. Why are the kids acting like total scrubs? They just got done training with Oscar, who just recently became a fighter. The entire group, barring Qrow and Oscar, seemed to have forgotten how to focus on their own fights.
Ruby got taken out because she wasn’t paying attention, Jaune’s need for vengeance got him into an unwinnable situation, and Weiss just got unlucky. They have better battle sense than this what the heck. When Jaune got defeated, it was a given. He is not ready to fight Cinder, let alone get his revenge. And then we go back to Weiss. Her new powers don’t mean spit against a maiden. I present exhibit A.
While I don’t think they’ll be killing her off, Weiss is gonna need stitches. From the picture, the wound looks survivable, so I’m hoping they’re just trying to scare us like they did with Qrow earlier. If they do kill her, I’m dropping this series. There are far better ones who don’t like to kill off their characters for shock value. This episode was about as evil as a Politician. Pretty sub-standard so far. If this next episode lacks pay off, I’m gonna be mad. If you like RWBY but want something more, substantial check out our review of last season’s anime.
Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
