Greetings, Geeks!
C. Voyage, here, and it’s time for another update, as well as a little something different. New Year Resolutions! Let’s knock out the update part first.
Content
Oookay, so the anime reviews are doing pretty well for us. Didn’t really expect that. Anyway, the hope is that we’ll be able to expand a little bit, this year. On top of their being more anime in our review docket, this season, we’re hoping to also start covering other stuff more frequently. There are a ton of movies coming, this year, that we want to cover. A bunch of games, too. We’re still hoping to crank out more Overwatch content as well. We’ve got a bunch of clips saved up, though we’re waiting on a few aesthetics before we dedicate an entire series to the game. In the meantime, we’ve been making due with the Overwatch articles in Scripted Gaming. It’ll still be a little while before we can do all that. So we’ll be continuing the articles for now, but maybe expect another update on that in a few months.
Speaking of articles, it’s interesting to see how things sort of went the exact opposite of how we expected, with the anime content being more regular, and the articles being sort of supplementary. Though I guess I should have predicted that, based on how the articles got written. Anyway, those are still going to be a thing. But their priority level is lower.
Joining the ranks of the articles will be a few more editorials. Personally, I really enjoy writing them. It just happens that they’re not especially easy to come up with. But we’re going to try doing a few more of those little opinion pieces and whatnot. Actually, we have one coming up in the next day or so! I don’t dare give you a frequency by which to expect them. But here’s hoping we can crank them out fairly consistently.
In other news, Bulletoon will be returning this month for Season 6! The show will be returning to form as it was when it left off. It’s been nice seeing the show gradually evolve. And it’ll continue to do so. While you shouldn’t really expect anything to change drastically in Season 6, there are definitely plans in place to continue making adjustments to the show and generate more content with it. More Bulletwin Tales, more types of episodes, maybe more cast members, who knows?
Lastly, we’re working on a few things behind the scenes in the way of original content. and that’s basically all I can really say. Look forward to future updates.
Social Media
Nothing to report, really. Everything is more or less the same. We’re going to be expanding our social media usage a little, this year, but no real updates of any significance for this month. Next!
Conventions & Events
Nothing to report, this month. But, we do have some convention plans throughout the year. For the moment, odds are high that the first Con I’ll be attending this year will be Awesomecon in Washington D.C., this March. But that’s basically it. Just attending. Nothing more. If you’re going to be running a booth, there, feel free to let us know by reaching out with the Site Feedback tab in the Contact section of the header bar! Always awesome, seeing people’s creativity.
Site Maintenance
There might be a few aesthetic changes coming to the site relatively soon. But for now, nothing to report.
Schedule

“Hurry up and get to the-!”
I know, I know. Ya wanna know about the fun stuff. When will the anime reviews be? What will be Bulletoon’s time slot, this season? Bulletoon is sticking to its Saturday time slot. We’re still not going to guarantee morning release, but it will be on Saturdays, outside circumstances notwithstanding.
Then there are the anime reviews. Some of them you’re already well aware of, thanks to our Most Anticipated Winter 2018 Anime list. But there’s plenty more. So here’s the full list, and when to expect the first installments. Obviously, subsequent installments will be determined once we know the official time slots for all the shows.

Of course, we aren’t going to cover absolutely all of these in episode-by-episode reviews. There’s just no way in the world. After we watch these, we’ll determine which ones will get the episodic treatment, and which ones we’ll just cover in their totality once they’ve concluded. Every show will get a first impression article, in which we’ll make our decision on whether we’ll pick it up for the episodic reviews or not. Joining these, however, we’ll also be doing a few full series reviews of anime that have come and gone, just because we feel like it. This list is subject to a few additions, but the list so far is looking pretty solid.
Date A Live
Dagashi Kashi
Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon
Cardcaptor Sakura
Sailor Moon or Sailor Moon Crystal*
Nanatsu no Taizai
Overlord
Log Horizon
Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho
Boku no Hero Academia 2

“Yes! They’re finally gonna talk about us!”
The version of Sailor Moon we go with will depend on how much time we have in the year. Furthermore, while we’ll have a lot of these out in time for their sequels to premiere, throughout the year, don’t expect that treatment for Cardcaptor Sakura or Nanatsu no Taizai. That most definitely isn’t happening. Those premiere in a few days and Cardcaptor Sakura, especially, is long. All of these will probably be happening on whatever days aren’t occupied by normal reviews. Basically, they won’t have a dedicated place on the schedule. But you can probably expect either Date A Live, Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?, or Dagashi Kashi first, as we have already promised full coverage on all of those.
On top of all this, we’ll still have our occasional lists and other opinion pieces from Sharlenne. And that’s basically all for our schedule, at the moment. Now let’s get into the fun stuff.
New Year Resolutions

“Ah. This should be good…”
Yeah, yeah, I know. Nobody ever lives up to these. But we’ll certainly try our little hearts out. We’ve already got a few plans, around here. A looot of stuff is in the works, this year. But it’s important to set goals. Realistic ones, of course. And not too many. So let’s see about those, shall we?
- More Original Content: This one more or less goes without saying. The whole intention of the site was always to use it to host original content, on top of all the commentary stuff. And I’m not talking (solely) about Bulletoon. This year is shaping up to be the one where we finally make some progress on that front. So we shall see.
- More Interaction: I can’t help it! I’m woefully antisocial ;-; But yes, more interaction with both the audience and with other blogs needs to be a thing we work on. Aside from opening opportunities for collaboration with both other blogs and other web shows (as was always the plan for Bulletoon, at least), it’d just be a healthy practice in general. And it does go with the social media thing a little, as well as the want of increasing our following. We don’t really do hard number goals on how many new followers we aim to get. But getting to 70 as rapidly as we did was entirely unexpected. We projected, like… 40. At the most. So that was a pleasant surprise. Here’s to another year of continued growth!
- Come Up With A Solid Support Plan: Patreon, basically. We use it. It’s there. But we don’t advertise it nearly enough. We don’t update it as often as we should. and it really just comes down to our not really having a plan, yet, as to how we want to run it. We’re going to be working on that, and have something concrete by the end of the year. Better ways of promoting it (which, at the moment, is just leaving the links on things associated with Bulletoon, since that’s mostly where the money goes at the moment, though that’s about to change drastically), more thought-out reward tiers, and all that jazz. For the moment it’ll just sit there. But we’re gonna work on ironing that out real soon, and eventually get the ball rolling.
“Why isn’t being more consistent on here!” Because, my friends, this site is effectively run by one person. And that person is on someone else’s schedule, more often than not. Especially in this year, where work is going to be a considerable concern. So I can’t really make any promises of stability while in my current situation. But we’ll get there. Maybe not this year. Maybe not next year. But we’ll definitely work on it.
The Wrap-Up
And that’s all she wrote. Nothing especially groundbreaking juuust yet, but we’ll get around to it. I’d like to do one of these updates every month. But, really, there isn’t always stuff to write one on. So the best I can really manage is try. At least one gets written whenever something big is happening or there’s a shift in scheduling and whatnot. Which reminds me, the calendar will be updated after the first episodes of all this season’s anime have aired and we’ve decided what we’re going to cover on which days. Anyway, that’s all for this update. Thanks for reading, as always. Keep up the Awesome, and have a Spectacular 2018.
Take Care,
C. Voyage
