Now you too can be a hero!
After, what, 2 seasons of anime My Hero Academia is getting a home console game that’s heading to the states. I’m a little more than excited about this news. The only problem is, we have no idea what kind of game this will even be yet. With Namco Bandai involved, it can be anything from Fighter to JRPG.
Let’s look at what we know so far. The game is coming out for Switch and PS4. The Switch did get a port for Xenoverse 2. Theoretically, this game could be like that. But I don’t think we will be creating our own heroes just yet. The series is still relatively new, so that may rule that out. Now it could be like the Naruto Ninja Storm games. The worlds share a few things that may help in a game like that.
I’m hoping for a more action-adventure game, myself. They could let us have an original adventure outside of the show, like the upcoming Little Witch Academia game, while still keeping some of the fighting mechanics from games like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and beyond. This might give them more freedom for original characters, while not spoiling any future plot points for the show.
Of course, they could let us make our own heroes too that would be nice. If they let us make our own heroes, would we be in the same class as Deku? I hope not. Then the only way to shine would be to beat him. (Chris: Uh… no it wouldn’t. He’s STILL an underdog. You’d have to beat Todoroki or Bakugo. Have fun with that). …You know how good I am, right? (Chris: I know how good you’re not.) Shut up, Chris. If they include a tournament, I wonder if it would support more than one player?
I could speculate about this game all day there are so many things I want to know. In any case, we’ll have to wait until Jump Festa 2018, which will be held December 16 – 17. Until then, feel free to check out some of our other articles.
Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
Keep It Classy,
