Well, that was abrupt. How evil is Mahoutsukai no Yome episode 8?
After all this time of wanting Elias to fight someone he finally does. The fight itself was very short-lived, but it did happen. I was expecting him to completely overpower a chimera, or to tear off its head. It seems that massive jaw does a lot more than talk. Elias is cool but Chise was pretty awesome in this episode. Despite her wound, Chise tried to attack Joesph, the big bad of the series. She created some kind of hornet that hunts spiders out of then air, but Elias stopped her before she could do anything with that.
Chise didn’t stop there either. She didn’t even show fear of Elias’s new form. They said her body is weak before. But I’m finding that hard to believe, right now. Chise even manages to get a familiar in this episode. It’s that Grim from the last one. It was just awesome to see that despite whatever her weakness may be, she is becoming more useful as the show progresses.
Speaking of her familiar, she renamed him, Ruth. Ruth was a dog of a girl very similar to Chise in appearance. How do we know about this girl? Chise can enter the minds of others while she sleeps and sees the past events of their lives. So far no one else has been able to do that except for the old dragon from a few episodes ago.
Ruth’s past is tragic. The girl he was so fond of died in a carriage accident. As a dog, Ruth didn’t truly understand that she was dead. He stayed at her graveside thinking she was just asleep. Yeah, he died waiting at her grave… As morbid as that is he became a grim because of it and that brings us back to the events in this episode.
This episode was full of the feels. Ruth’s backstory is just sad. It could be a lot worse but Ruth is still alive sort of. Also, I have to point out that Elias was afraid of Chise when she tried to attack Joesph. He even said something about changing reality… What can she do, that he felt the need to stop her? Well, anyway I would say this episode is about as evil as a Super Villain! I still have some questions, but this show is doing a good job of answering them so far. If you liked what you read, why not see what other anime stuff we have to offer?
Well, That’s all I have for you today… I think. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
