After a long wait, we will finally see more antics from this space comedy.
In a new interview, the writer for the upcoming Galaxy Quest TV adaptation, Paul Scheer, revealed all kinds of things about the upcoming addition to Amazon’s television lineup. The show will start right where the movie left off and there will even be two casts. There’s no information on who the series will follow. The series is set to be a serialized story as opposed to episodic. Yes, this show will have a plot.
What I really want to know is if one of that casts is the original team. It would be cool to see some of the original team doing things in the show. They could always have one cast be our heroes and one cast be the villains. Getting to see antics from both sides would be great. If they go with that, both could still team up to fight a greater evil.
With a serialized story, all kinds of possibilities open up. If one of the cast is a group of veterans and one of them are underdogs that always screw up, the differences alone could make episodes funny. We could see the noobs screw something up and then the pros complete the same activity. If the veteran team are the villains we could see a real struggle from the beginning.
I’m really hoping we get some of the original cast back. Maybe they could take on commander positions at least? Where we wouldn’t see much of them but they are giving the new team(s) the missions they go on. Any appearance would be nice really. I know they could recast them all, but I hope they don’t.
Amazon seems like it’s on a role for acquiring new shows so far. They have that Lord of The Rings show and now this. I wonder if they are going to pick up any other series I care about. There is no released air date just yet hopefully, we will get more information soon.
Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
