Aha. And so the plot thickens.
So Disney is/was (still a bit murky on that) trying to buy 21st Century Fox‘s film division. But the Deadpool co-creator and Image Comics co-founder, Rob Liefeld, is pleading to for 21st Century Fox to say no. He even said that the X-Men franchise is like their Star War. I think that’s taking it a bit far. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some X-Men, but Fox’s version of them is nowhere near Star Wars.
Let’s look at things a bit differently. Would the X-Men really make the MCU a whole lot better? Okay, the X-Men are mostly fighting discrimination against mutants. However, all kinds of metahumans exist in the Avengers. How are they going to do the whole discrimination thing in a world that has people like Thor, Captain America, and all the others? (Chris Note: Oh. Hey. So you do remember our chats.)
They could expand on the thing that started Civil War. Have the government try to police the Avengers or something along those lines, I guess. I think it would be hard for them to pull them all together, but if they do pull it off it might be interesting.
On the other hand, Deadpool did pretty well for Fox. I do think they should wait for Deadpool 2 to come out before they sell if they decide to. Honestly, I think we got enough heroes already. They’re already pushing it with the Avengers movies. Adding more might be a double-edged sword.
But there is still one group of heroes I want to see done right. The Fantastic Four. So many misses with these guys already. If Disney were to acquire them, maybe we could finally see a decent Fantastic Four movie, and more importantly a decent Doctor Doom. A good theatrical Doctor Doom needs to happen. Seriously. Ask Chris. Either way, we won’t know more details until later. I hope this works out for the better.
Well, that’s all I have for you today, Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
Keep It Classy,
