So… Ozpin is cursed to be the avatar. All right. How Evil is RWBY vol 5, episode 3?
RWBY
Studio: Rooster Teeth
Genre: Action, Fantasy, Science Fiction
We all knew something was up with Ozpin, but being cursed by the gods was the furthest thing from my theories. I guess it explains a lot. He seemed to know things that were obscure. I’m looking forward to seeing the training sessions with RNJR in the future. It sounds like Jaune will be getting his semblance soon too.
I wonder if this is going to lead to a training-from-hell scenario. Seeing Oscar beet up the team would be hilarious, even if they do a normal sparring session. It was nice to see Ozpin is as sharp as ever too. He already knows about the trouble from Haven academy, just based on the headmaster’s disobedience.
It seems word of Adam’s insurrection hasn’t spread to Blake’s home just yet. I wonder if the White Fang is intentionally not spreading the news to lure Blake and her family into a trap. Right now it looks like the Faunus want nothing to do with a plan to help humans. At least no one seems eager to help. I’m hoping the events of the previous episode don’t lead to a Faunus civil war. We have enough violent conflicts about to happen, another one may be a bit overkill.
Speaking of conflicts, Weiss woke up in a bandit camp, so you know she isn’t happy. Even unarmed Weiss has her summons, but will they really help against Raven and her maiden? Of course, the fact that Weiss has no clue there is a maiden there seems problematic for her.
The biggest development this episode was from Ozpin, as I mentioned before. I still think he might be the wizard from the story of the maidens. But if he is, he probably could’ve stopped Cinder. Unless for some reason he can’t undo what he did. That would be pretty lazy writing though. So far this volume is one of my favorites, but if all this buildup doesn’t pay off, in the end, I will be mad.
There’s nothing to really complain about. The show is pretty consistent and easy to follow. The writing is still not as good as it could be, but it’s still entertaining. I would say that this episode was about as evil as a Politician. This show isn’t the best I have ever seen, but it’s far from the worst. If you liked this review check out our others.
Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
Keep It Classy,
Evil Bob
