Net-juu no Susume – Episode 4 Review (Is It Evil?)

That was interesting. How evil is Net-juu no Susume episode 4?

Net-juu no Susume
Studio: Signal.MD
Genre: Comedy, Romance, Slice of Life

This episode was different, in a good way. We got to see an in-game event that involved loot boxes. I found this episode to be hilarious. They literally had people’s different reactions to microtransactions nailed.

You have people who will keep spending until they get everything, You have the people who are hoping to get something they like, and then you have the guy who will sell all of it to other players to make a profit. I wanted to see at least one person who didn’t care but, eh. The power of microtransactions affects even the world of anime it seems.

I believe in the heart of the (credit) cards!

On top of the microtransactions, we also see some character development from the supporting cast.  We saw something brewing with Kanbe and Lilac. Those two are already funny together. We also learned that Pokotarou – the big guy – has a wife in real life, as she hilariously takes over his character to scold Kanbe. So, yeah cool developments with the supporting cast.

There was a lot from the main characters too. Moriko got cornered into going on a “date” with Yuuta’s friend. That was awkwardly funny too. That guy is a lot smoother than he should be (Chris Note: If by smooth, you mean ridiculously persistent). Then we learn that Yuuta has basically been in stalker mode since he last bumped into Moriko. Apparently, he really wants to see her again.

Overall this episode was pretty funny. I can’t wait to see if Yuuta finally realizes who  Moriko’s character is. It seems like he will figure it out, next episode. I don’t know if he will have to guts to confront her though. Even if he does, how will she take all of this? I’m looking forward to seeing how this will develop.

This show is very entertaining so far. I would say this episode was about as evil as a Super Villian. So far nothing is really dragging this show down. It’s well paced, the humor is perfectly timed, and it has some interesting characters. If you liked this review check out our others.

That’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

Keep It Classy,
Evil Bob

I’m kind of hoping Sakurai will crash her drinks with the other guy. He knows when and where they are meeting because the other guy told him so he needs to just show up. Awkward maybe but it would work. I somehow don’t think he will though. Not confident enough.

What does it say about his friend that I can’t tell whether he specifically did that to help Yuuta out, or just to troll him? XD

I couldn’t tell either, but part of me wants him to be a nice guy and have him goading Sakurai to make his somewhat shy friend step up.

I’m hoping it is a gentle nudge to get Yuuta to make a move. I think it might take him awhile to do it though.
