False alarm. It was a friendly abduction. How evil is Mahoutsukai no Yome episode 3?
You know, abductions are usually frowned upon. Well, at least they broke the pattern of the first two episodes. I was afraid this would get a little too predictable. We also got to meet Lindel, the caretaker of the dragons. He seems to have some connection with Elias. The way they interact I’m going to guess Lindel is Elias’s master or was.
We also got to learn a lot about the life-cycle of dragons, and how they view death. Chise had another flashback, this time it seemed like she jumped off a building when she was a child. I’m not sure if it was an attempt at suicide or her trying to fly. I’m going to say she tried to fly because right after that a dragon lets her fly using his final dream.
I think the most adorable part has to do with the dragon hatchlings. Chise is asked by Lindel to play with them, while he and Elias go off to chat about things. We get some pretty adorable scenes of Chise playing with the hatchlings. This includes one of them diving into a lake and getting her wet again. Which is bound to not feel pleasant. It’s cold where they are.
It was funny to see the abduction get shrugged off by everyone, including Chise. I thought Elias was going to go terminator on Lindel, but apparently it was all done to introduce Chise to the dragons. And possibly to show off where her future wand/staff is going to come from. This one didn’t feel as dark as the last two episodes. Aside from the possible suicide attempt that is. Again, I say Chise had a horrible life that she didn’t deserve. I do wonder if there will be any confrontation with her family later on.
I love this series so far. This episode is about as evil as a Super Villain. It has the right amount of drama and comedy. Being in a fantastical world helps a lot too. Well, if you liked this review check out our others.
That’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.
