Is It Evil – Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

Well, it’s time for me to take the plunge… Final Fantasy is a series known for overcomplicating even the simplest of plots, killing off fan favorites, and most importantly… angst. So much angst! But that’s a story for another article. I’m here to talk about Final Fantasy XV’s tie-in movie. So just How Evil Is Kingsglaive?

Where do I even begin? This movie is a prequel to the game and is a contained story all it’s own. The main character is a guy named Nyx who is a Kingsglaive solider. For those not aware, Kingsglaive are the special forces of the kingdom of Lucis, who get magical powers from their king. Yeah… that’s why they aren’t in the game. Nyx is the guy who makes sure the Oracle gets to safety but he isn’t in the game either… I think you know what that means. Players of the game should be thankful for this as he does kill of a few terrifying enemies that are also not seen in game. I’m not going to ruin it for those who haven’t seen it but if you’re like Chris and prefer happy endings this movie isn’t going to be for you.

Though there is a lot of death, none of it seemed pointless with context of the movie, or game. Nyx’s actions are mentioned in the game so he lives on as lore. You can even acquire Nyx’s dagger. I’m a little impressed with the movie to say the least, but it does have problems. The first few minutes are unnecessary to the story of the film. On top of that they had a bit of exposition to go with it. Other than that, the people who did die, went out with a bang. Those fights… were epic. Overall I would say it’s about as evil as a Politician.

Well, that’s all I have for you today. Thanks for letting me waste your time, people.

Keep It Classy,
Evil Bob
